  My Life after Bethel part 3

  we started attending the wakefield r.i. kh after the marriage.

  at the first meeting i went to, "buddy" weber came up to greet me.

  he had left a very good job in seattle (he had his own radio talk show) and was now a janitor, living were the need was greatest, at the time r.i had the worst publisher to normal people ratio in the counrty 1 to 1600. i'm just standing there listening to him as he is giving me the "what he has done for jehovah story" what his "spiritual credentials" are, how wonderful his kids are, were they were pioneering, how he had givien up a good job so he could serve the lord my cleaning windows in rhode island............because the end was coming soon in 1975, just a few months away blah blah.......blah.......it reminded me, so much how the jws love to martyr themselfs and how much they say "we are all equal".......but on the other hand, they love poistions, that deep down inside they believe that some are really better then others and that they are working there way into the "new system".

  Getting a new PC - OSes

  so, the good news is i'm finally getting a new pc.

  the bad news is it's coming installed with windows vista.

  hooray for formatting the hard drive!!!.

  i have an xp based machine for general stuff.

  i also have a seperate mepis 6.0.1 machine that has a rather unusual way of running xp.

  my mepis web page is here.

  well, unusual to regular folks anyways.

  i also have another linux based computer in those pictures that runs my web server and ham radio proprietary hardware and software for connecting radio's to the internet. linux can do allot of things that you wouldn't usually see.

  all about my irlp radio project here.

  my current MEPIS 6.0.1 desktop looks like this:

  that being said, xp is one of the best o.s's that ms ever made. for the common folk anyways. i dont think much of ms, or its monopoly

  in the computer world, and would love to see the field more evened out between ms, linux and mac os.

  if your having that much difficulty with xp, you may want to concider what your doing, trying to do and what your infected with.

  sounds to me like you need to sit down and get some utilities available and scan the beast and see whats infected you machine.

  kate and i were having a discussion (with some differences of opinion .

  what if there were no "total posts" listed under your screen name?

  what if there were no such tags as "newbie, junior, senior, etc., etc., etc.," or "forum assistant, administrator.".

  i'm on quite a few forums, all the others are NOT jw boards.

  don't matter there either. i post if i have something to contribute. if not, i read and move on.

  quantity don't matter.

  quality does.

  ok, alot of you know i bought a camcorder.

  it uses mini dvds.

  it came with nero express 6.. problem is my cd rom, doesnt recognized them.

  ok...

  open nero smart start.

  click on the dvd tab, upper right.

  click on photo and video.

  see if you have "convert dvd video movies to nero digital."

  if you don't .... your kinda screwed. have to find a program (like the full blown version of nero) that can re-encode video.

  if you do open it up and see what you can do.

  let me know if its there, i can try to walk you through that.

  explain to me why you want to copy these to your computer?

  disks are cheep. why not just date them or write the content on them and be done with it.

  help me understand what you what to do and why and maybe i can help you do it or find a better way to accopmlish the task.

  why? the reason it uses disks is so that you dont have to do that. is there a specific reason, to save this dvd disk to your hard drive? doing so takes up huge volumes of space and is usually not recomended. disks are cheap and you can save space by not moving this type of files to your hard drive. open the disk with my computer and use the "explore" option. dont double click it, right click and choose explore. what do you see? what format, file extention do the files have? do you see two folders? one called VIDEO_TS and the other called AUDIO_TS ? look in the VIDEO_TS folder if it is there and tell me what kind of files are there. also nero express is a ripped down krippled version of the real program. if you want to do video editing you and i need to have a real chat, off the boards. you have my email address.   for those of you who think im nuts already (which i am), i am going to by a cam with night vision and infrared recording.

  the reason why, is im going to set it up in my sons room tonight and see if i can catch any paranormal activity on it.

  i know what i saw, and i know my son see's stuff alot........so, im either going to prove to myself im wrong, or prove you sceptics wrong about the paranormal.
