Lol. Knowing everything that Simon mentioned exists as a way of life is the point of it being mentioned. Everyone is aware these things are the rules that govern advancement. Just because you personally haven’t had it happen to you doesn’t mean that it’s obviously part of the way things are. Qualifications can take a back seat to quotas.

As an institution, I think people expect law and order. They want to be able to, expect to be able to call for help. I think people who are good citizens do care about keeping law and order.

No one should think if they signed up to be a cop that it would be EXPECTED that you would be treated with outright contempt and abuse. No one signs up for that! That’s like someone desiring to get married and enjoy a normal married like. Then the spouse gets abused regularly. Well....I don’t feel bad for them. If they don’t like it, just quit and find something else to do. That reasoning is crazy, in my opinion.

There is one type of cop that I don’t like. You are driving 40 in a 35 mph zone and you don’t get a warning you get ticketed. Some cops are to the letter of the law. I’m also not a fan of setting up roadblocks just to see if someone is impaired. I know the Supreme Court has allowed it but I think police should act if there is probable cause.

Cops now have to deal with punks in their face. These people challenge the cops at every turn. Top police brass and mayors and city councils undermine the police whenever they can but when THEY are in need they will call the police for help. Hypocrites!!!
