“Well at least he doesn’t make mean tweets”
by minimus ini asked a tennis friend this morning what he thought about what’s going on in afghanistan and he said it was terrible.
he was a military man and identifies as a middle of the road republican.
he supported most of trump’s policies but voted for biden because he couldn’t take trump’s mean tweets.

While he was lamenting the Afghan debacle I said, “ well at least Biden didn’t make mean tweets.” He wholeheartedly agreed and then said how surprised and impressed he was that I would say this. 😀 I told him I was just being facetious, I was being very facetious. He said nothing after that.

By the way, I mention Italianelder because when he was questioned by the elders,He said it was his culture because he was Italian that he drank wine with all of his meals and everyone in Italy does the same thing. I like it.

I always had people over for drinks and would hope they would get home alright.🤭… we had an Italian elder who drink wine with all of his meals and sometimes too much, elders figure it out that he was awful giddy on some of his assignments. Especially Thursday night was tough. However I remember him as giving the most entertaining talks! LOL

Those Witnesses that had that operation suddenly realized they couldn’t eat as much or…drink 2 drinks without getting hammered. I remember a few defending their drunkenness because their stomachs were stapled. Haaaa

Speaking of buffets, there is a place in Rhode Island and I forget the name, but I believe it’s like $150 plus for all you can eat from lobsters, prime rib, crab legs, you name it, they have it. I could never justify spending that much money for a meal just to gouge myself.

by pistolpete inwhat is it about some jws that they can't see the flip-flops of the wt's changing doctrine?.
some of the flip-flops involved the death of many of it's members, and it was not even biblical based.
yet for some reason they can't seem to grasp the significance of the matter.

Your dad called you. I found this interesting. He either was interested in the opposing views that you held or he was calling with helping you in view.
My dear mom was a true believer but every once in a while she would express being disturbed by a Watchtower point of view or elder’s opinion. To me, I figured she might be ripe for hearing negative things about The Truth. We would talk many many times and I would put her in a corner and she just couldn’t handle it. Eventually I seldom mentioned these things. Why?? Because I realized I couldn’t out argument her. She would know throw 50 years of believing what she felt was truth down the toilet. Rather than pursue the religion I realized she was old and I would rather cherish her for being my mother.
In the end, it’s all up to the person. For some, logic isn’t the issue.
