i received this email from a friend of a friend:.
'comments made by brother lett at morning worship today.. the comments were about the work we have of bearing witness of the truth.
" again, the angels make note of it.. we knock at the fifth house and again no one is home.

i've just learned from a trusted contact at thewatchtower.org 'norris', that the society intend to put a resolution to the congregations shortly - though definately not at the 'special talk' meeting next month.. here's the scary bit.
this resolution needs to be responded to by all baptized jehovah's witnesses.
we have not been able to get hold of the wording but have been informed it is intended to provide the brotherhood with the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to jehovah and his organization.
For newcomers,
BOGUS THREAD
I repeat...

The WTS has been having resolutions every few years. Most JWs just hope they aren't too long.
If a resolution is what is coming, it will be totally completely absolutely innocuous!!!

this is my first chance to post here since last thursday, so here it is.
amanda and i arrived at approximately 5:45 pm, and parked in the walmart parking lot.
amanda bought a folding chair and something to eat, as she just got off work.. we walked across the street to the kingdom hall and stood on the shoulder of the road.
Hey Junction-Girl, welcome to the forum!
Please keep us posted on those initiatives.

Junction-Guy,
That was so wonderful!!! Peaceful protest is a legitimate form of expression. I do encourage you to go and talk with the police officers of the area, to make sure your rights are respected.
I'm not for disrupting their meetings, though, as I'm sure you didn't do. Just the showing of signs speaks volume!!!
How I wish I had a chance and the courage to do what you guys did!

and i think that the wts's "waters are drying up".
we had two congregations meet and the hall still wasn't full!
i noticed a change in the talk from last year.
"I remember them going to GREAT lengths to show that Jesus initiated the memorial AFTER Judas had been given his walking papers yet the combined gospels accounts clearly contradicts this showing Judas was still there and only left AFTERWARDS which seemed to me a good indication of how they value their doctrinal myths above what the bible actually plainly states."
zen,
you're right. I remember that.
I wrote an article in PORTUGUESE on this very subject: http://www.observandoomundo.com/artigo.php?cod=66
For those who may be wondering about that doctrine, see the book The Greatest Man, stories 113 and 114.

the other day while rereading the scriptures about the last supper, i spotted something that is very interesting.. mathew 26:23 reads:"in reply he said: "he that dips his hand with me in the bowl is the one that will betray me.".
the above doesn't make much sense to me because it implies that one would have to give himself away by doing exacly what jesus said the betrayor would do.
now, look at how john words the same event in john 13:26:"therefore jesus answered: "it is that one to whom i shall give the morsel that i dip".
Remember these guys were writings many many years after the fact and each had their own slightly different personal philosophy about what was important about Jesus. The two accounts are not a contradiction.
Eduardo,
writing "many many years" after the fact is no justification for innacuracies or contradictions IF the Bible is the Word of God, right?
Then, you say that "they [the writers] had their own slightly different personal philosophy..."; again, this goes against the belieft that the Bible has one author, God himself.
Otherwise, think about this: what else in the Bible is the product of "personal philosophy" of the writer?

Paduan,
the Bible is viewed by many as the word of God to mankind; that's what I meant.
I know that many people will try to reconcile in a lot of ways these conflicting accounts. These accounts are easier to spot in the gospels because there are more than one version reporting the same event, but I wonder how many inacuracies there are in the Bible that we simply don't know as we can't compare to anything else.
