Source of Flood Waters

i do not have access right now to the watchtower cd library, could someone check and tell me what the watchotwer now says is the source for the great flood waters?.

do they still believe the theory of isaac vail that the waters came from above and that there was a water canopy in orbit about the earth?

or does the watchtower now say that the canopy was a vapor layer, not in orbit, but a simply above the atmosphere?.

Precisely! The Society cannot even answer basic questions posed by a biology student, much less take up such an enormous challenge.

The average life expectancy in the U.S. was 47 years.

Increased average life expectancy is, in my opinion, a direct result of improvement in the standard of living. I wish JWs would remember this when WT comes with this talk of "bad, bad, soooo bad days we live in".

is it ok for me to be part of your 'gang'?

you see i'm not a jw and never have been and a bit of of me feels like i'm gatecrashing.. i was raised in a strong roman catholic family - i was expected to believe everything the church taught without question and i did.

when i left school, i found myself working with an evangelical christian who, because she questioned my beliefs slowly made me look into them for myself - i truly hated her at the time for doing that and admit that i made her life a misery in revenge - but eventually i began to see that some of the stuff she was saying was right, we became very good friends and my real journey out of the rc church began.. i was too scared to leave straight away because of the doctrines i'd grown up with - no salvation outside the church and you can only really communicate with god through the priest (big issue here was how do i get my sins forgiven cos if i don't i'm gonna go to hell) - it was another 10 years before i finally plucked up the courage to leave and this was because of two things that happened:.

i have been told that a number of changes has been made to the daniel's prophecy book between the first edition (or printing) and the latest edition of it.

the funny thing is that these changes are inconsistent among the media (paper book and editions of the wt lib cd).. so, if you get the daniel's prophecy book you have in your home and compare it to wt lib cd 2004, you will only be able to confirm some of these changes.

I know; this is really confusing and took me a while to make any sense of it. The list above is as my source sent me.

It's unclear to me the time of what the list calls "first printing", since this information is never printed in the book.

I thought I had the first printing too - since I got my book at the convention.

Given what you said about case 5, I believe that what you have is most likely not the "first printing" referred to in the list.

So, if you get the Daniel's Prophecy book you have in your home and compare it to WT Lib CD 2004, you will only be able to confirm some of these changes. Below are all the changes, of which I was able to verify only cases 1 (against a scan of the latest edition), case 2 (against the CD) and case 4 (against the CD).

(The other changes I couldn't verify because I don't have the "first printing" of the book)

Admitedly some changes aren't relevant, but most are; so, I'm listing all of them to see what you folks out there can make of them.

As usual, it seems that the WT has introduced those changes quietly, as I don't recall seeing any official notification. Anyways... Enjoy!
