How We Come Across On The Board
by minimus inmost people here have never met you.
we converse, discuss, argue, laugh, agree, question, share our lives..... quite often, you kind of get to know what a person is like.
some people, we tend to gravitate to and others, we shy away from.. how do you think you come across to other people?

Public Speaker Cries During His Talk
by James Jackson inhis talk was about reaching out for the real life.. he is in his mid seventies, then begins to rant on about staying loyal to the organization because many of us have lost loved ones in death and if we want to see them again we must remain in the organization.
he says he wants to see his father again, then the tears begin to flow right there on the stage.... then an elderly sister during the watchtower study admits to regetting leaving her daughter behind to seek a better life in the u.s, and she is crying.... these 2 meetings was just plain weird..

very well said!
by alwaysthinking insome dates are important to set, like weddings, retirement parties, and vacations, but not the date of the return of jesus.
jesus said that "no one knows.
" i've never really understood why something so direct and so simple could be so abused.. quoted from http://god-and-logic.blogspot.co.nz/2011/05/where-is-promise-of-his-coming.html.

Christianity has mis understood the hybole, metaphoric and symbolic language used in those days
.
which has always baffled me. When it comes to proclaiming vital information involving the alleged son of god and his alleged future activities, is hyperbole, metaphors and symbolism really the best way to get the message across clearly?
God's score on this issue: 0
Jesus' score on this issue: 0
Imagine if in relaying instructions to accomplish the first space shuttle mission, NASA scientists, instead of writing down clear, concise and scientific information, chose to tell cute little stories full of metaphors and symbolism, and just left it up to everyone involved to figure out what they really meant?

So Much For Advertise Advertise Advertise (another DVD thread)
by ctrwtf inif the ultimate goal is to reach as many people as possible with the kingdom message, why does the society find it necessary to block any public access to the new dvd?.
could it be because the public will see how vacuous their teachings are?
producing this propaganda is a new low even for them.

@ scotoma: Each time the appropriate fingers went up there was a flurry of writing.
.
which finger was scotoma holding up (or at least wanting to)?

Cha Ching: Well, it's better that people don't get life if they have to get it from copyright violation.... right?
.
That's right. Jehovah™ abides by the rules of Satan's ™ System of Things™. If a person learns The Truth™ through copyright infringement Jehovah™ doesn't want them. Them's the rules.
"go in through the narrow gate" "clearly" refers to copyright laws.

Is the Watchtower religion really so lacking in an identity of their own that 130 years after its founding it still feels it must elevate itself by stepping on the "competition"?
.
Yes.
