  st. petersburg, november 7 (rapsi) environmental prosecutors office for st. petersburg have uncovered violations by the russian jehovahs witnesses chapter, according to the statement issued by the prosecution on friday.. the prosecutors office reports that the religious organization dumped waste in a creek that flows into the gulf of finland, in upstate st. petersburg, without any permit.. the neva-ladoga water authority confirmed that in 2013, jehovahs witnesses dumped more than 30 thousand cubic meters of waste into the creek.

  in 2014, authorities detected a rise in concentrations in ammonium lignosulphonate and fluoride, in violation of the on environmental protection federal law and water code of russian federation.. the prosecutors have filed a lawsuit against dumping waste into the creek.

  GC: The abusers issue is of no consequence.

  Unless, of course, you are that one that was raped as a child by a JW and firther victimized by the religion that defended the rapist.

  GC: The Org just has to come to terms with implementing a new guidance to turn these people to the local authorities.

  If the pedophilia is "of no consequence", then why would WT change its policies?

  Actually, for the number of existing JWs, the number of abuse cases is really minuscule

  How would you know? WT has hidden most of these cases through gag order settlements, and keeps it hushed within the Org. itself. 99% + of JWs have never heard of the Conti case or the recent case in San Diego to the tune of $13,5 million. If JWs are ignorant of the most newsworthy cases, it's reasonable to say the scope of the problem is much larger than can be imagined.

  GC, why are you here? Your Governing Body explicitly orders you not to go onto "apostate" websites, yet here you are. Why do you defend your leadership when even you don't believe what they say?

  ok so i know its not really anything to do with jwness but we are struggling with baby names and really can't think of one we both like.

  its getting a bit desperate as i'm due in about 8 weeks .. i'm getting bored of looking at the same old names on the baby names websites so any suggestions would be much appreciated (girls please).. **cash prize for the one we choose!

  my goodness that was nothing !

  a letter was read today from bethel addressed to all congregations in britain that can only be described as the biggest news for years.the main points:.

  Listener: What's the bet that those old halls will be the ones that aren't already owned by the WTBTS?

  "Old" is also the KH that happens to sit on the most prime real estate and will make the biggest profit for WT. Menlo Park, Ca. is a great example.

  the borg has many inconsistencies, when the topic is helping humble and honest people achieve their full potential.

  consider a working man who works 40 to 60 hours a week and still manages to show up to all the meetings, participate, do all of his assigned work within the kh, but his ministry has slipped to 8 hours per month.

  this same man is working hard to move up within the ranks only to get shut down without even knowing.. .

  the problem is the word exemplary. What the hell does that even mean in JW terms anyway??

  "exemplary" = you kiss elder butt, you get some minimal, meaningless, arbitrary number of hours in service every month, you are the lucky recipient of nepotism and/or favoritism, and you are a "yes" man.

  As Ray Franz pointed out in CoC, the most admirable qualities a person should have are, in WT Land, the least important as far as getting "privileges" and position.

  Most believe in what they are doing and want to feel like they are accomplishing something.

  I've seen much different. I've listened to many JWs, incl. elders, piss and moan about how much they "hate" going out in field service, but they do it anyway because they have to. Then when they do go out it's superficial at best. It had nothing to do with actually accomplishing something and everything to do about making a good show.

  It has been mentioned how ineffective and inefficient the door to door work is , but there is criticism when the org. Tries new methods.

  So replacing one ineffective method with an equally ineffective method is an improvement?

  I dont think the rank and file publishers need to be viewed with contempt or ridicule.

  WT is being ridiculed, not individual JWs. JWs don't decide how or what official methods they are to use in the ministry, WT does. The new text method was published in the KM...it wasn't an idea thrown out there by JWs and adopted as a great idea.

  As some active JWs here have already indicated, they like this text witnessing because it's just an easier way to "get time in". They haven't applauded it because it's actually effective. WT's "new" methods are appealing to superficial JWs because it trains JWs to be superficial. Busy, go nowhere activity has become the standard for JWs. If given the choice, I firmly believe a large percentage (80%) would simply quit going out in servive cold turkey if WT made it optional.

  I just wonder if they are seeing issues with the charities commission in the UK and trying to get the money out before it starts getting taxed.

  Hard assets, like real estate, can be sanctioned or seized by a government. In the Conti case, as I remember, the Ca. court required WT to put up the Patterson complex as a surety 'bond'.

  I believe the pedophile issue will become huge, and WT knows this. Shrinking numbers aside (publishers), I'm sure a WT strategy must be to liquidate hard assets, convert them into cash, then move the cash offshore, thereby shielding it from potential lawsuits. Tax issues may also be a factor. Imagine the fallout if governments, like in the UK, suddenly decided that WT isn't really a charity (why they haven't figured this out before now is beyond me) and began taxing them.

  For an organization that is allegedly growing and progressing as never before in history ("The need for Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls is greater than ever before. At this time, over 13,000 Kingdom Hall projects and 35 Assembly Hall projects are needed worldwide"), it certainly appears to moving solidly in the opposite direction.

  ...and in a few years: jehovah has blessed his organization with growth such that most kingdom halls are now overcrowded. Please donate what you can such that we can buy more land for jehovah

  bohm's got it figured out.

  It's no diffrent than when WT was building Branch Offices at a breakneck pace: it was "evidence of Jehovah's blessing".

  Then when WT began the grand selloff: it was "evidence of Jehovah's blessing".
