I've watched Bill's stand-up routine three times. Cracks me up. Watch the whole routine, but the part of the show OEJ is referencing starts at 22:10.

i watched bill burr's netflix comedy special "i'm sorry you feel that way" a couple days ago, and something reminded me of it so i thought is post it here as i think many here will enjoy it.. the whole thing is hilarious, but in one segment he did a bit on religion and how he "just let it go" one day.
he touches on the fact that tall other religions (he gives the example of scientology) seem insane to you, but yours makes perfect sense because it was put into you from an early age when you had no critical thinking.
all the while he makes no effort to force anything on the audience - everything is presented in a non-threatening "here's what i did" sort of way.. i have to give comedians some credit for my atheism - comedy is a great way to get people to challenge their beliefs while bypassing the usual defense mechanisms.

i took a hiatus from jwn because the wall started to collapse because i lost several people ive known almost my entire life.
these were people i thought would never die, the lies told by the watchtower is unforgivable!
there was a party i attended keeping a low profile while documenting what was said.
I love this quote from Steve Jobs. It has so many applications that highlight the destructive nature of the WT mindset:
.
"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." -- Steve Jobs
the difficulty of finding a marriage mate is well known for sisters.
but i would say it's hard for brothers also.
i was talking to a jw last night.
"dowdy" dress standards... obesity... They don't understand that their cheerful, spiritual personalities are not enough to attract a mate.
Andre would probably like them...
what is up with jws?
lately, i've heard this line, "we don't judge .
but, doesn't everyone judge?
"mentally diseased"
No... no judgment in that at all.

JWs are the some of the most critical, judgmental people there are.
They can't see it because they are in it. Step away even slightly and the caustic environment of what constitutes a JWs world is unnerving at best.
i've never wondered about this before, but i've been on this kick about the supposed infallibility of god.. let's consider for a moment that the flood was real.
god had created the expanse of water in the heavens that shielded the earth from the sun.
this is what he considered to be the the right way to build the earth.
I was just wondering how a Witness might explain this.
JW explanation: "go to JW.Org".
or the WTS hasn't thought about it.
In reality, what does WT actually think through?

God did it this way so he could eventually blame skin cancer, faded car paint, and polar ice caps on Satan.
I'm a building contractor. If every time I built a project it all turned to crap, after a while someone my question my ability.
Do what god does: blame the project. That we you never have to introspect to find the real source of the problem.

The qualities of a prospective marriage mate in WT Land have nothing to do with love or even liking the other person. Compatiblity is based solely on artificial, contrived, idiotic corporate rules with no other purpose than to perpetuate conformity.
As the 3/15/15 WT clearly showed (through an alleged true experience involving "Bill" from Australia), "compatiblity" with the person you marry is based only on: they go to meetings, they go door-to-door, they read WT literature. That's it.
WT complicates the situation further, through statements like T-Mo3's comments, that a man MUST be at least a ministerial servant to be considered worthy by a JW woman.

Pay attention to your feelings. They can be instructive.
"It is tough to discover that what you have believed in and invested your time in for so many years is a false hope and even a fraud/scam. You can spend hours and a lot of verbiage in rationalizing justification and excuses to continue the learned belief system." - Douglas A. Wallace
