What is amazing is now we have the internet. all that information is out there for you to browse through and discover. It's brilliant. You can sit here with pc, have 5 or 6 tabs open covering different topics. think if you had to spend hours trawling through books, OMG ... nightmare. We are so lucky, everyone else has done most fo the work for us already.
Jesus was villified, tortured and crucified. Watch the passion of the christ for a realistic depiction of what it was actually like, then picture watching that happen to your son. If it doesn't tug at your heart strings I would be surprised. it makes it so real.
The early christians. Let's not forget, they were tortured, they were burned alive as human torches. they were set upon in the arenas by animals for entertainment and sport. the barbaracy and cruelty of the Romans is fact. Where does modern christianity as an organised religion come from - the Romans.
When King Henry the 8th broke away, research that, it was massive. No one challenged the power of the RCChurch. It was absolute power. When Elizabeeth became queen, the church sent a monk assasin to kill her !
Whe never got married to protect the people, if she had gotten married she would of straight away been in subjection to and controlled by man.
Queen Victoria. Was I think one of the first monarch's who started to reform housing etc for the poor and the workers.
Irish revolution, that was a nasty incident.
Look at what happened to the Jews.
World war I and II
Look at what is happening today in Syria. pakistan. bangladesh.
the list is endless.

Loubelle
I remeber when the rwanda htusi/tutsi thing errupted (memory is a bit grey bout the names)
who performed those atrocities - man. Why?
The history of S.Africa. Didn't the 'white man' (capatilsts) to terrible things to the natives ? Then didn't the natives turn around and do the same thing to the white s. africans? that book I told you about, she touches on some of that. Tells a good story. It has been a pattern throughout history. Nimrod ! Look at America's history. Australia's. England. Belgians, Spanish, Vikings, Normans, Mongols, Barbarians, down to Saddam hussein, dictatorships. The khyber rouge. North Korea. and on and on.
And organised religion, be it whatever shape or form, has played a major role in history and the atrocities that have happened. (pagan through to modern day christianity and Islam, now there are even buddhists killing muslims !
Man has dominated man to his injury. Is not that true ? Why though ?
Now some people are probably sitting there shouting apologist, nut ____ insert word, lol. Why so, why not beable to discuss these things. it bears no relevence whatsoever on believing or not believing.
ok, i've suddenly got heaps of time for stuff, i can cuddle with my husband on weekend mornings, and i don't have to spend money on meeting clothes!
i've got all these great clothes i hardly wear!
we can make pancakes on saturday mornings!
Hence the term of being ''born again'' lol.
Oh julia I am so happy for you. and you know what, you aint seen nothing yet, it just keeps getting better.
Think about when and where your gonna go on holiday with and hubby !
much love
have you ever marvelled, as i have, at the marketing genius that sells us less food for more money?
the marketer who came up with the "100 calorie" packaging ploy deserves a consumer's medal.
i am recording my own 100 calorie snack wonders, that are balanced for a diabetic (carb, protein, and roughage).

It really is a great little book
chance encounter with cantleave.
re; led zeppelin, iron maiden ect.. combined with a little chat with my daughters yesterday about drink, drugs and society.
( the herb being harnless v the shrooms ).
For the first time ever i have been totally disappointed with the latest Now That's what I call music compilation Now 84.
sickened I spent 20 quid on it

yes but soontobe is not saying why he likes what he likes, what is it about them that 'does it' for him.
Led Zeppelin, I was never into their music. when can't leave mentioned them, I looked up on wiki. found out their history, stairway to heaven was written in a cottage in the welsh mountains with no electricity and no running water. how many stars today would hack that ? then I actually listened to the tune, brilliant.
Satanus
I love guitar and drums, love passionate music.
Rvierdance - you familiar with that.
I was recently introduced to paul simon's graceland. Awesome, the story around it is amazing too.
There are even a few Irish folksey types of music I'm into ( generally I hate irish diddly daddly, lol) accordian, tin whistle and bodhran, they throw out some great pieces.
Jim Donovan - Don't let me cross over, was mad about that one to once.
Most modern stars can't even sing Live. Take away the recording studio and all the glitz glamour and hype and there is little substance. My partner has worked beside them (in their dressing gowns rehearsing) and has seen the truth, lol.
Adele, amazing.
Amy Whinehouse - can't undertans what all the fuss is about there.
The Beatles were rejected initially. Lol, the guy still counts that as the biggest mistake of his life.
Tom Jones - Elvis's buddy, Elvis was amazing. Tom Jones is still a living legend who hung out with the greats. to watch him and Will.i.am working together on the same tv project, is awesome.
Eminem - 8 mile. brilliant.
soontobe - would you be willing to tell us how old you are ?
chance encounter with cantleave.
re; led zeppelin, iron maiden ect.. combined with a little chat with my daughters yesterday about drink, drugs and society.

soontobe you have totally understood what the context and meaning of the title and discussion are all about.
i was going to say judaism, christianity, and islam but since i know little of judaism and islam so i decided to stick primarily with christianity.
i have found myself thinking that the values preached in the bible are not compatible with western (ie american) values.
however, it all seems to depend on who you really talk to and what he or she believes.. for example, the jehovah's witnesses preach a lot about how women are suppose to be submissive to men and yet at the same time preach how this does not mean that women are suppose to be seen as inferior to men.

Actually putting a snake into your childs play-pen, is different to owning a snake that escapes and gets into he childs play-pen. Like one doesn't leave the new baby unattended with the family dog, ever.
Some animals are also what we term 'bad uns'. If we breed dogs and breed a bad un, are we responsible ? If we purposely selectively breed dogs for those bad traits, then yes we are. If we selectively breed for good traits, and a bad un gets thrown up, then no we are not. It's nature, we cannot control everything. Especially nature.
Once the balance is upset, it throws everything else out of sync. Who upsets the balance, man. He may do so in ignorance, fair enough, but if he does so deliberately, then he is responsible.
Consequences of ones actions can have far reaching effects. sometimes devastating. Eg marital affairs. Drug abuse etc.
the story goes (hypothetically/theoretically)
the devil was perfect. what the story does not say is ....
how many years was the devil watching man for before he tempted eve ?
did he develop an inclination to a bad heart/disposition before man was created or after.
why did he go bad - like cain - just like man.
what did he crave.
worship, power, adoration, domination ? (who knows) but again - just like man.
how long was the devil watching eve for before he made his move. Notice he went for eve, the newer more naive of the two creatinons, the 'child like one'' - just llike man
like a predetator he spotted weakness. - just like man
was he lustful for the woman - just like man
did he become obsessive, consumed with desire, lust, greed, spite, power, domination, control - just like man ( if so how long a period of time was this going on in him before he acted)
the snake, hissing, if you research it a bit it says something like (memory fails me here) casting a spell, hypnotising ( think the snake of jungle book, trussst in me !)
the angels had/have serious power.
did the devil eat of the tree first. was he tempted by the thought of it, the power of the knowledge.
did the fruit have any actual power or was it set up simply as a means of test
did God already know what was going on with the Devil, is that why he put the tree there, as a test, to obtain actual evidence against the devil and see would the first human pair stay faithful or deviate. ( think law)
there are so many things we don't know, don't understand. so many un-answered questions. so much ignorance. the book of enoch, why is it mentioned in Jude. why was it kept hidden / concealed all these years, why were we never taught about it. along with the other 'forgotten' books.
the book of enoch
most Christians feel it is of the devil (why so then would it be mentioned in Jude ) and not of God.
the book exposes Satan and is Satans worst nightmare. IF the book is true, then Satan would do everything in his power to keep it out of the churches, AND HE HAS DONE.
It's not about believing, it's about having the knowledge and understanding of WHY. Being able to answers the questions in one's own mind.
