Thanks for the responses everyone. Personally if I had children I seriously doubt I would encourage them to believe in Santa. My brother and sister in law have decided to let their boys think Santa is real. Which is why I told my nephew what I did. Now mother on the other hand is realizing the consequences of her actions and is begging me to intervene so she can see him. I know I can get my brother to let her see him if I am there. I am going to let her sweat for a few more days so she can think about what she did.

And that Christmas trees were pagan sticks. She really did it this time. He does not understand what a pagan stick is but he sure understands about Santa not being real. I asked that woman what in the hell she was thinking and she said she would not encourage him to believe a lie. My brother and his wife have been so clear to her that she is not to discuss her religious beliefs with him. I asked her if it was worth it because now they have cut off all visits. She's playing the persecuted JW now. My nephew was so confused. He asked me who was lying his parents or grandma? I told him that Santa was real as long as you believed in him. He was happy with that explanation. I am going to dread going back home now though. I am so sick of her pulling this shit.

Are Liberal Arts Degree worth it?
by truthseeker inan excellent article, which also refutes the idea that people only go to college to get rich and make money.. http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/departments/elearning/?article=liberalartsare liberal arts degrees worth anything?by jim pollock.
for everyone who says that a liberal arts degree doesn't prepare you for anything, you'll find someone else who claims that it prepares you for everything.
well, both, to some extent.the one thing that's pretty much certain is that right out of the gate, a liberal arts grad will tend to pull a smaller starting salary than his or her friends who majored in business or a technical field.

My dad told me that he would not pay 1 cent of my college if I majored in liberal arts. I chose Business and I am so glad I did.

She's back - here we go again!
by Why Georgia ini've written about this many times here.
my jehovahs witness mother in law has decided that she wants to be a part of our life again (this week).
we have basically disfellowshipped her from our lives because she refuses to follow our rules.

WG,
I have only the best of intentions when I post this but I have been reading your posts for a long time. Your husband needs to grow a spine. IMO he has been hiding behind you for way too long. He needs to stand up for himself, YOU, and your children.

by rwagoner inmy mom is a dialysis patient and has had a couple of heart attacks.
she is 65 or so...never celebrated a birthday so no real clue.... she went into the hospital yesterday with a bleeding ulcer...they thought they sealed it all up but her blood count continues to drop.
due to her dialysis she can only get iv's in one arm and it is difficult to find a good vein.

I am not picky. I love scented candles and bath and body works products. Or something unique to your area would be cool.

What are you Thankful for this year?
by Gretchen956 ini don't know about you all, but i've been out a long time, long enough to form some traditions.
this time of the year i get reflective about what i'm thankful for in my life.
here's my list (by no means complete, in no special order, but what i can think of off the top of my head):my brother came out safe from his fire and only lost a few possessionsthat i have two brothers of my family of seven siblings that i can be close to and we can all love each other unconditionally outside the borg.that i have a partner that puts up with me!that i have two dogs and two cats that make me smile and laugh out loud every day.that i have a son that i'm good good friends with.that i have a roof over my head and food to eat.that i have transportation to where i need to go.that i have love in my life.that i have my spiritual base.that i have a job to pay my bills and a little extra.for my friends.for jwd and all you awesome posters here.that despite problems, there is still beauty in this earth.that there are still good, generous people.. sherry
