thanks to judge ratherflawed's intemperate bashing of england, the u.s. and the ``commercial jews" among both of them, this book has become quite a collectible.

i was an underbidder on the item and will gladly consider a purchase.

Just read another post re the 2005 Yearbook and the phrase "As We stand on the threshold of the coming new system of things" which I bet was almost word for word inthe 1934 edition 70 years ago.....some threshold

an extrem strong earthquake happened recently in the indian ocean near island of sumatra.

level 8,5 - 8,9. no contact to many islands and coasts anymore.

no phone to the maledives and other touristic islands possible.

Sword of Jah - I understand that for you there is no option but to hold to the party line - Jehovah is Righteous and we dont understand his qualities as we are imperfect - He has a way of sorting out this worlds mess and along the way lots of people will die/be killed but it will all be right in the end. If I as a parent said to mychild - "put your hand in th fire and burn so that you know I love you" and carried on a course of life that terrified my child I would be in prison - your God acts no differently to that - the Ransom arrangement - Perfect Life for Perfect Life seems to weigh as of little the millions of imperfect lives lost - and as the ransom price was paid centuries ago - what excuse is there for still waiting to give out the till receipt of a paradise earth?

...someone at the branch did supply this organsiation with the addresses of POs in the relevant areas - I still get letters to cong addressed via me asking for "good standing workers " (slave labour) and "donations" - a long way from seats free and no collections. As a charity - Trustees cannot be paid under UK law - expenses maybe but no wages - so is "owner" a trustee or conveniently a (well) paid employee? The 50p voluntary donation is a disgraceful example of emotional blackmail of the worst kind possible - seem to remember the name Siddeley in association with this organisation ?? In UK care homes are very tightly regulated and controlled / checked but the financial "surplus" showed in the accounts here is beyond the imagination of any care home organisation

What happens when the faithful and discreet slave die off?

i am a bit fuzzy, but i always remembered that the "faithful and discreet slave" were the annointed members of the governing body and that they were led by jehovah god.... of course according to the wts.. now, as they get older and other wts corporations have been formed and the president of the wts himself isn't of the "annointed" then what happens when the "annointed" governing body members who represent the "faithful and discreet slave" die off?.

where is the intermediatary between the regular jw's and jehovah?

what will happen to the light that kept getting brighter?

a judge has just overturned the paltry compensation that a yob had been ordered to pay to the seven year old child that he paralysed while speeding in a car without insurance or a license.

he was only paying 3 a week and claimed "he couldn't afford it" !!!

As a JW did you "take a turkey" or accept the Xmas Bonus?

i felt it hypocritical to take a turkey abviously meant for thanksgiving.

i didn't like buying the easter candy after easter either as it was "food sacrificed to idols".. years ago at a place i worked they gave out a xmas bonus which i returned.

( a few hundred dollars which we sure could have used) they assured me that it was an "end of the year" bonus.

Yes - one Christmas was given a Turkey by a suopplier or someone so took it home and it was cooking away merrily with a delicious "Turkey" odour whilst the congregation book study was held in out living room. After the group one old brother said "is that a turkey cooking?" to which I replied - "yes - it was a gift from ..." (whoever cant remember now) He almost went apoplectic wuith rage and dragged his wife and children out of the house "bewfore they got contaminated" - how we all laughed at such nonsense - still took another 3 decades to convince me I was wasting our lives in the dub kingdom- - and the Turkey was the best we ever had and most useful as next week the Bether Truck delivery was held over for some technical/wqeather reason so we had to feed the truck driver brother and another brother he was training - guess what they got for dinner..no complaints ...it all vanished before us...told them what old brother had said and theylaughed out loud...dont think the meal contaminated them....the following week the old brother asked for a move from my group (oh joy to be rid of him!)
