  How do you know this?

  Have you seen an organizational chart or something? I'm not trying to be difficult, but even after being a JW for 30+ years, I have no clear understanding or knowledge of their organizational structure.

  Your statement seems reasonable enough, but is it true. Losch's response seems to be a very carefully worded--albeit deliberately deceptive--truth rather than an outright lie. It would be interesting to know which it is.

  I am convinced they are deliberately vague and obtuse. The segregation of responsibilities and the layers and shell groups indicate a very thoughtful and deliberate course of action to do just what they are doing now: play the legal game of, "That was not my responsibility."

  Let's review: It's a cult!

  my goodness that was nothing !

  a letter was read today from bethel addressed to all congregations in britain that can only be described as the biggest news for years.the main points:.

  All that being said, why did Zalkin only subpeona Gerrit Douche? Why not the president of the WTBTS of NY, Leon Weaver Jr.? Or the president of the WTBTS of Pennsylvania, Don Adams?

  It'd be nice to get any of these guys on the stand and nail them down as to WHO exactly determines WT policies and practices.

  AnnOMaly: The Service Committee supervises the Service Department.

  It would be interesting to know the exact relationship is, according to the WTBTS, between the SERVICE COMMITTE and the SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

  That being said, Lösch 's declaration (drafted by an attorney at WT legal no doubt) is designed to obfuscate and avoid responsibility.

  He admits to being in the GB, the "highest ecclesiastical authority for the faith of Jehovah's Witnesses," but denies any responsibility because, "Hey, it's not my job man!"

  What douche. That's it: Gerrit Douche!

  I read the letter. I just think it's good for the doubting lurkers to see scans of actual WT letters on WT letterhead. Most still won't believe it, but some will.

  one of two things will happen.

  i'll get disfellowshipped and never have to worry about being "told on" again for living a normal life, or; they won't do anything.. either way, it's freeing and i feel relieved... it will be sad if i get disfellowshipped but i've come to terms and made peace with it as much as can be expected.

  it's a huge weight to have off.. was told on a week ago and haven't heard anything.

  I'm curious about the full-time nature of the "construction servants" that will be involved with this. Do they not have outside sources of income? Who is supporting them? All of this seems to be increasing the control of the branches and by extention the GB. This would correspondingly increase their liablity in any legal issues.

  It defies logic. I get the need for money and I understand they're control freaks, but they should be doing things to distance themselves from the "authority" of the local elders to further insulate their liability, especially concerning the endemic problem with pediphiles in the ranks.

  We're missing something ....
