  Nature of the Word "Spiritual" Amongst Witnesses

  even as an atheist i consider myself spiritual, always have, metaphysics and spiritual discussions about enlightenment and so on i find interesting, even if belief in a yhwh is not in me.

  i want to propose this simple definition of the word "spiritual" among jehovah's witnesses.. spiritual = indoctrination or indoctrinated.

  i have been told how i'm "just not a spiritual man".

  JW.org Lapel Pins for I.D. ?

  today was the first time i've seen a bro wearing a jw.

  org lapel pin, actually much, much larger than an actual lapel pin.

  square shaped, the background was olive green but the letters were white in bold letters.

  i have been searching for this for ages.

  it just seemed to have fallen off the net or was down in south africa - couldn't find links or anything.

  was really weird.. the site looks clean, i miss the old site however.

  Oh Damn...I have been sprung!

  i knew it could happen one day...yet i was so careful..... sitting at the sound cabinet, i had our awesome forum open on my tablet, and didn't see the microphone brother looking over at me...... he wandered over and asked me "whats that site?".

  i quickly responded "oh, i googled to get to our jw.org site, and this must have popped up" while quickly closing it.... he didn't look too fussed, but my heart was beating..... he is pretty chilled out and certainly not an "uber-dub"...but this was a wake up call to be more careful...i am fading fast, but don't want anymore attention from the nazi-elders while doing so!.

  njs: will bet in the near future all KH with a router will add a list of sites not allowed to access. Or maybe even only allow a specified few. Anyone with me on this bet?

  More likely they'll write some code to flag "apostate" websites. The GB would rather catch "bad guys" than prevent "crimes."

  njs: Stuck, are you using the KH wifi? If so stop immediately.

  Better yet, STOP GOING TO MEETINGS!

  one thing that people have today that others in past didn't is the inter-net and the available information that can be derived from it.

  the foundational history of the wts.

  from the late 1800's throughout the 20th century is now quite easily obtainable for anyone with a computer and the inter-net.

  That is a very accurate assessment of the mental/emotional condition of most JWs. The requisite hyper-vigilance is emotionally crippling and physically damaging.

  Wife fully awake.

  i learned this past week that my wife is now awake.

  i just shared the pbs newshour segment with her with no comment other than something along the lines of, "jw story on pbs.".

  she is furious at the arrogance of these men.. thats what happens when you get a momma angry!.

  CT: She's not quite to the point yet to abandon theism, although she has stopped praying.

  I've heard several ex-JWs say it takes about one month for every year they were in the religion to get back to some semblance of normalcy.
