Bad timing
by Saltheart Foamfollower ini haven't seen this mentioned anywhere yet.
in view of the cutbacks being announced, this weekends watchtower study is staggeringly badly timed - it's about how kingdom halls should be viewed, financed and maintained.
a footnote even mentions that the same principles apply to "assembly halls and other facilities that are used for pure worship".

Yeah, Holy Spirit missed this somehow! -

E-Mail, Just recived. About Bethell adjustments.
by DwainBowman ini just read an email from a friend, and she shared some very interesting emails from her friends about information on changes now happening at the bethels around the world.
here is the email: .
---------------------------------thanks sally, jesus is directing the org and all decisions and instructions to us may not seem practical from now on, neither will we understand the reasonings behind many of the changes that the organization makes.
-

Do you understand this?
Of course not. No one could. It doesn't make sense.
If more pioneers are being sent into the field, the result will be more new ones coming into the congregations. And yet, the building projects are being curtailed.
More contradictions.
So, should an announcement like this surprise us?
Yes it should, it absolutely should.
But yet they continue ...
Not at all. As we get closer to the end, some decisions may be made that we perhaps don’t understand, that may seem to go against all logic. Whatever the reasons, obeying and accepting those decisions will result in blessings.
Well that is just fucking ridiculous.
It really is amazing how effective that now infamous quote from the November 15th, 2013 Watchtower has become:
- All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.
-
The R&F are regurgitating this nauseating propaganda right on cue.
It's scary to sit back and watch this unfold, seeing how effective the mind-manipulation is. I fear for my children.
Let's review: Its a cult!

Here's some food for thought from Irwin Zalkin, the attorney who has filed nearly 20 child abuse lawsuits against the Watchtower
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.zalkin.com/blog/yom-kippur-thoughts-pope-francis/.
yom kippur thoughts for pope francis.

Irwin Zalkin: I was disappointed to see no acknowledgment or compassion for the victims of clergy abuse, ... I was disappointed, but not surprised.
And you could easily substitute the Governing Body and other WT leaders for the Pope in Zalkins essay.

I don't want to be a damp squib but do we know this letter is actually real.
How interesting ... we can't tell parody from the real thing, ... or the real thing from parody.
What does this say about the quality of "the real thing"?

Calm Down Everybody, We Will Know Soon Enough
by OnTheWayOut inseriously, they will change the midweek meeting ever so slightly.
it is just repackaging of the same old stuff.seriously, we don't know if construction is halted for days, weeks, months, forever, or what.. we don't know if new kingdom halls will still go up, old kingdom halls will be closed and sold.
they have laid off bethelites before and they will lay them off some more.

Ah, a voice of reason cries out in the wilderness.OTWO: Speculation is fun, I know we are going to do it, but just be careful running with these scissors.
FayeDunaway: It's always fun to speculate on the future of the religion that was BUILT on speculating on the future!
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!

How do we know the WTS monitors this site? Can anyone tell me for sure?
by LevelThePlayingField ini keep hearing this in threads.....

SB: Just for interest sake, wouldn't it be like the US president filing a DMCA for a transcript of the state of the union address?
No it would not. Speeches by federal employees are in the public domain.
Fair use does not allow for anything under copyright to be reproduced in whole without the express permission of the copyright holder. Only excerpts may be used for legitimate purposes such as education, journalistic reporting, etc.
Are speeches public domain?

Saintbertholdt: The weird thing is they claimed copyright infringement on the transcript of a public talk.
Speeches are subject to copyright protection just as much as any other intellectual property. The odd thing is that it is the person that gave the speech that would own the copyrights, unless specifically transferred.

WF, thanks for sharing your call.
The brother that answered your call clearly did not deny the rumor, he just said he hadn't heard it and wasn't in a position to comment.
The fact is: anything other than a confirmation is pretty meaningless. Even a denial wouldn't mean much. It's not like the WT leadership has an unvarnished record of honesty and transparency.
