15 Years of Jehovahs-Witness.com
by Simon inyes, today is the forum's 15th birthday!.
i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.
the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!

Congrats to the site and Simon for all his efforts in creating, maintaining, securing, updating and keeping this site running (that's an awful lot of work!!) and congrats to all the vast numbers of great and sometimes fabulous postings that have helped so many including myself. Thank you all!!
I'd love to know what the total member number count has been in the 15 years.. (census allowed..)

by New day inin a recent thread someone mentioned that the wtbts uses mind control techniques.
do you think this is a conscious ploy?
if it is it would mean that the leaders of my religion (i am still an active jw) set out consciously to control people.

I had an prominent elder tell me once that he would never look at the original writings of the Watchtower because reading them would destroy his faith and his relationship with Jehovah. WTF! -

None at all.. when I was in I told the elders that I did not like the Kingdom songs one bit.. and also that the Watchtower was written for brain challenged 12 year olds and that I just could not read them any more.
I told them that the older material in the hall library had far more depth and complexity so they left me in there reading all of that. Ironically it was exactly delving into the old publications that woke me up and proved the entire organisation to be one whole crock of horse shit.

Who is your favorite "Apostate"? Who helped you see the truth about "The Truth"?
by minimus ini would have to say that ray franz was the biggest influence for me.. when i first got on this board, a poster by the name of james, a former bethelite and organization heavy, helped me understand a lot of the inner workings in the upper echelons of the society.. .
and of course, farkel's common sense approach was (usually) helpful..
