Want to share your thoughts on JWs?

well, it's been a long while since i last visited here.

i've been doing this and that...you know....lugubrious life and all.. i am interested in collating views from all types of people about jws, albeit non jws, ex jws....anyone associated with jws who wants to share their viewpoint.

later on i'd like to self publish these collected interviews but cannot offer any money as the project is more about giving people an opportunity to speak, help, whatever, rather than make a best seller.

What drew you to the JWs?: Lonely lost youth looking for answers to life.. They seemed to have many.. I got indoctrinated.

What do/did you enjoy about being a JW? - Having a sense of order and structure and meaning in my life.

What is your best/fondest memory? - Falling in love a few times with sisters..

What is your funniest memory? - A very zealous and spiritual potential C.O brother fell in love with me and as such realised he was gay.

If alive in 1975 as a JW, do you remember it? What are you memories as a JW?: Was not around then.

Can you think of anything positive or good to say about the watchtower organisation?: Not any more.

it's hard to know where to put this link to a polish book some of you older members probably read, while our newer members are seeking answers to questions the watchtower vehemently deny's!

do i put this under "jw scandals" or "jw beliefs"?

for decades without the internet many of us did not have access to all the publications written by early watchtower writers because access was hard, only men like raymond franz jr(god rest his brave soul) had the golden key for entering the library of all publications jws made.. can some of the older members remember people who sold their homes and others who bought things in the summer or fall of 1974 knowing they won't be paying for their purchases because jehovah will destroy all the creditors records when he kills them!

Not a good idea to use the same email or username when registering on different sites.

Some sites too can track your internet activities and movements so would also be sensible standard practice to have certain browser plugins installed to prevent your internet trail from being sniffed.

I'm happy to tell you how if anyone want's to pm me.

2015. no surprise here, but did it lose these limbs because it talked?.

3rd Gen DF'd finally writing

i've been reading many of the postings on this forum for a couplefew years, finally joined today.

i think reading cappytan, and others like that, compelled me to share, it seems i might have a bit of a different outcome than many i have read, perhaps it will be hopeful/helpful to someone.. i was a born-in, 3rd gen jw, my entire family (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and most all of my childhood friends) were in.

some dropped by the wayside as the years went on, but many stayed in, and if they didn't, they still acted/talked as if they believed it was "the truth" and it was their weaknesses/failings that made them stop attending.

I can't say I even found a baby in the bathwater... it was just bathwater, no baby to be seen or felt anywhere.

MAD MAX FURY ROAD

i went to see the new mad max movie last night: "fury road.".

this post-apocalyptic world is not recycled gray, it is blazingly colorful australian desert terrain with wide shots that will stop your heart.have you ever seen an heironymous bosch painting of hell with its where's waldo panoply of brutish, demonic, figures inflicting torments willy-nilly as far as the eye can see?

well, fury road makes bosch look like a knit-one-purl-two doily maker at a sunday brunch.. director miller has thought about this movie, planned it, sketched it, worked it, perfected it millisecond by millisecond before scene one was ever shot.one second of onscreen activity has more interesting business happening than two hours spent by a voyeur in a nudist colony of playboy bunnies.. what is watching this film all about?

Terry your review alone deserves it's own award. I imagine this movie to be just as you so appetisingly described.

I suspected this film would be absolutely ass kicking. The trailer alone is an utter visual assault and a beautiful work of art.
