  i had my previous toshiba laptop plugged into the wall five days ago when a sudden electric storm drove a jagged bolt of electricity earthward and fried my hard drive.

  i posted my sad status on facebook.

  Stop being a winer.. you actually know absolutely zero about me. A flaw I have no interest in rectifying. My entire comment is not about Terry so your need to defend 'him' is ridiculous. My comments are merely about technology. After over 25 years in the industry I am used to calling a spade a spade. What do you call a spade? Cherry pie?

  Raining on parades? I advise companies and individuals on their spending budgets so am not used to pampering fragile egos when it comes to spending hard earned money on their gear.

  A few posts ago Terry was extolling the almost magical virtues of his last machine and a week later it experiences a total melt down. These comments are noting to do with Terry as a human being or his writing skills which make your feeling a need to run to his aid and subsequent comment quite embarrassing. It's just about a choice of and the management of ones tech. Nothing more. Terry is not a 12 year old child that just got a plastic pony for his birthday. He's a grown man.

  I highly recommend trying to keep a grip on reality. Life is so much easier that way.

  i'm an anglican and not a jehovahs witness.

  what i dislike about lots of church congregations is their readiness to make unpleasant and unhelpful comments about other christian groups.

  recently someone in a church tried to tell me a little about the views of jehovahs witnesses.

  one of my friends posted an inspirational picture on facebook this morning.

  even before i checked i knew that it was a fictional quote.

  it was written by somebody who has not grasped a basic fact about evolution.. darwin did not say this.... it is a common misunderstanding that evolution favours individuals who are able to adapt to their environment.

  Among the many problems with Darwinism that Bergson's theory tried to deal with was the fact that a multicellular organ is a "functional whole made up of coordinated parts" and if "just one or a few of the parts happened to vary . . . the functioning of the whole would be impaired" (Goudge 1967, 292). This concept, now known as irreducible complexity, is the basis of the modern Intelligent Design movement. Bergson also concluded that, due to irreducible complexity, at every stage of an animal's history and development

  all the parts of an animal and of its complex organs |must| have varied contemporaneously so that effective functioning was preserved. But it is utterly implausible to suppose, as Darwin did, that such coadapted variations could have been random. . . . Some agency other than natural selection must have been at work to maintain continuity of functioning through successive alterations of form (Goudge 1967, 292).

  Bergson also concluded that Darwinism had failed to explain why life

  evolved in the direction of greater and greater complexity. The earliest living things were simple in character and well adapted to their environments. Why did the evolutionary process not stop at this stage? Why did life continue to complicate itself "more and more dangerously"? (Goudge 1967, 292).

  slander of others religions is worse than Trump. instead of being ignorant read the bible and get the answers. you are not worshiping people you should weork towards woirshiping God. you learn about God by reading the bible not destroying freedom of religion. people that are afraid oif what they dont know becomes example of Hitler. be wise research and read the bible. have love for everyone.

  Of course the subject matter of the book alone guarantees one will attract all sorts of people including your nut job extremist JW's. But I hardly see his little rant and anything to get upset

  As regards the guys grammar and spelling it sounds like English might not even be his first language. I see people in this forum apologising for their formatting/spelling/grammar all the the time especially when posting using mobile devices. People posy in here when totally drunk!. Again not a big deal.

  Just curious.. does anyone who does not give a stella review any book written by an ex-jw have to get slated and insulted in here? Is it really that important? Have people not learned to manage rejection and non-acceptance still?

  One does not also need to have had to pay for something in order to be able to review it. I have reviewed a ton of books and products that I did not buy.. ie: was given, borrowed or found.

  What is it with this?:

  • You did not pay me so your opinion is invalid
  • You did not say nice things so your opinion is invalid.
  • My friends and I will now pick you to pieces and insult and deride you publicly on an ex-jw forum.

  Why not simply just ignore it? It's not like they boiled a baby in oil..

  A world with just one viewpoint would be such a boring place.

  My advice is carry on your studying with them.. except tell them before you do any study of the Bible.. that before you can trust and put faith in them as teachers of truth that you want to do a study of the 'Jehovah's Witness Organisation' using it's own literature.

  Then come back here and we will provide you with links and printouts to practically their entire library of printed teachings going back to 1897..

  Let us know how the study goes..
