>>P.S. Take Roddy with you.<<
What's your problem with me, Eric?
can anyone give any details on what to expect next in barbara anderson's case?.
i just read about the questioning of how a woman got into a researcher position at bethel.
i have a few questions on this myself, based on the level of involvement i've heard claimed.

What's your problem with me, Eric?
i just went to the supermarket and came face to face with an elders wife coming out of the store,.
i was polite and said hello as im just a fader as they refer to it on this board, but im not kidding youd think she had just met hitler.... that is how she reacted to me, i left those meetings cuz of how they treated me and the lies hypocrisy lack of love on and on but being reacted to like that hurts and makes me so angry.... how the heck do you deal with it, it really affects me so much..... its realy hurtful oh well i need to realise shes not important in my life so what she thinks dont matter squatt.
hard tho isnt it?.
>>But he smiled. That meant alot, not because i care about JW crap and their rules, but because I miss this young man, i watched him grow up and hugged him as he cried when they lost their baby to a miscarrige. I know he is only doing what he is taught to do. But still sad.<<
It's the Borg programming. But it's nice to know that there are some with some humanity left in a few of them and it ventured, even fearfully, to acknowledge it in kindness to a grateful memory.
Keep fighting evil with good.

34th biggest company in new york.
watchtower bible & tract society of new york .
>>when you consider that the wt literally sits on top of billions of dollars in cash and assets and has never in thier 130yr history built One hospital anywhere in the world, they have Never opened one college, high school or elementary school anywhere on the face of the earth, the have no abuse center for the community, the wt society has never bought one old yellow school bus so that folks in africa could get not to the WEKLY meetings each week, but to a DISTRICT CONVENTION JUST ONCE A YEAR at least they could rent a yellow school but NOT EVEN A GREYHOUND, but a yellow bus to take the old and sick to the district, instead here you have a BILLION dollar company bragging about the fact that it's members MUST WALK FOR DAYS TO GET TO THIER SALES MEETING<<
Oh, but they built the nice Patterson Educational Center. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets renamed "Watchtower University" some day. LOL Oh, and there is the Patterson Inn where weary travelers can come in and sleep.
You know what gets me? Brothers and sisters giving-up thousands of dollars to build kingdom halls and then the elders, unknown to the brothers, transfer ownership to the WTS instead of the local congregation. So when I see that the WTS has close to a billion dollars in assets - I wouldn't be surprised if a good portion of that is kingdom halls, assembly halls, and other property bought by private fund but signed-over to the WTS by the elders and traveling overseers.
Oh, and when the WTS cried for interest free loans, the brotherhood opened their wallets and purses. But when congregations ask the WTS for loans, the WTS will loan the congregation money with interest!
Gets me mad that I was so blind!

another good letter of disassociation:.
go louise!.
december 21, 2002. .
One has to wonder what the letter openers at the WTS could be made of to read letters like this? Don't they wonder what's going on? Or do they get rotated out for 'rest and relaxation' or perhaps therapy? The WTS must be getting many letters of disassociation, complaints, etc.
i have read the stories of those that have been unceremoniously drummed out of the watchtower, even though they were making an effort to live quietly, without causing "trouble" by telling their friends and relatives of the wt what they really knew about the true history of the jw's.
the wt's claim that they don't disfellowship those that have left the faith, is a vicious lie.
it has been disturbing to me and my wife to hear of such good people being ostracized just because they no longer agree with the wt's interpretation of scripture.
>>You know, what the rank and file doesn't know won't hurt them.<<
Unfortunately, what the rank and file doesn't know does hurt them too. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place. The WTS loves the power both ways.

>>Barb told us she wrote the article years ago, on FGM (female genital mutilation). After it was approved, it was sent to an African branch for final proofing, for accuracy. When it was published the article said this "from our correspondent in Nigeria (or whatever country it was)". She didn't expect any credit, but it made it sound like they wrote it. They proofread it and made no adjustments. <<
I remember that article! It was front page cover story. It shocked me. What a barbaric custom.
So that was her's but she got no credit? That was sad. Very well written! If you get a chance to write her, I convey my congrats. Anyway, at the very least, it gave FGM publicity and awareness among JWs and those that got that Awake article.
Did she write other articles? How about other sisters?
today i spoke with a former jw i've been in touch with for several years and discovered what i think could be a major bombshell for the wts.
as we all know, shunning is the most powerful weapon the wt cult has over its members and for decades the wts has been able to get away with practicing it at their whim.
the us and other courts have permitted them to to use it, even though it destroys families and has ruined countless lives.
Shunning is the WTS' only teeth and claws. Remove them and from the command chain beginning at the WTS ivory tower and down, even down to the elders, become nothing but paper tigers!
Power to the people!

>>"In summary, shunning must cease immediately because these children have already been harmed by the practice. Though the Jehovah's Witness Church has the right to shun certain individuals, in this case, the practice has damaged small children. <<
That should also put a chill on the WTS insistance in baptising minors thereby forcing them to live by rules and regulations they don't know about, forced upon them contrary to their emotions, and entirely at the cold whim of elders and higher-ups!
i only did the two week temp thing, but i still had to fill out a long application and send it back.
one of the questions that stands out in my mind was something to the effect of: "do you believe that the organization of jehovah's witnesses is god's sole spirit directed organization on earth?
when i read that, i felt a strange sensation.
>>"Do you believe that the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses is God's sole spirit directed organization on earth?"<<
Isn't that the WTS Legal Dept inspired sentense that is used as the litmus test of a JW's loyalty?
I belive this is the sentense used in JC meetings too. If you say 'yes', then you lost all defense and the elders can basically lead you like a horse anyway they want you to go. If you say 'no', then you not only lost your defense, you're out.
i've been curious about something.
anyone has speculation or fact why the wts doesn't register their books with the isbn?
(www.isbn.org) every book worth anything carries an isbn number.
>>Probably another attempt to isolate themselves from the "World"<<
True. But someone told me that a most likely reason is because the WTS really doesn't like their publications to be "remembered".
As a publishing company, what the WTS fears the most is her own publications. ISBN cataloging also subjects published work to archiving, such as the Library of Congress and other mega libraries around the world. Whatever the WTS prints today she will have to hope people will forget about tomorrow, or worse, hope she doesn't have to defend or explain a reversal or answer criticism that she is regurgitating the same old material over and over again!
