Two giants of the 60s pass
by designs inthese are not coffee table names but they influenced the worlds of music and civil rights for 5 decades.
bassist charlie haden and journalist john seigenthaler.. during my pioneer years in the late 1960s and early 1970s my pioneeer buddy and i would go to the lighthouse in hermosa beach, ca.. and listen to the great jazz artists of the time.
when we were underage they would let us in through the alley door.

Watchtowers God cannot see very far into the future.
by Jeannette inhe wanted all his people to be window washers, toilet bowl cleaners, floor moppers, minimum wage workers, not get an education to get higher paying jobs and have some security, and now this country is being flooded by plenty of workers that will do minimum wage jobs.
kind of leaves us begging.
why didn't he see this coming and encourage us to get educated while we had the chance.

Yes they really messed all of us over. Just the fact that we missed happy things, birthdays, holidays, Christmas, parties, college, hanging out with worldly people, having to sit through all those boring meetings. Oh, I could go on and on. They certainly had us on mind control to constantly go out and stand at peoples door asking for money for a stupid little track and tell us we were doing the most important work in the universe. Imagine-we bought into that.

WTBT$ and natural disasters- do they get paid to do the repairs?
by Darth Fader The Sequel inwhen there is a natural disaster in the us, we always hear about the wtbt$ rushing in and doing all sorts of repair work for the local jw's and even for "worldly" neighbors.
a zillion examples of this in the katrina hurricane aftermath, various major floods around the country, tornadoes, fires, etc.
on the surface, this sort of charitable assistance appears to me to be one of the few truly loving and charitable things the wtbt$ ever gets involved with, and certainly all the volunteer jw's who work so hard doing this work deserve credit for their efforts.

When you ask to be reimbursed for help rendered, you haven't "given" a thing, have you? Money grubbers.

I love my life, I don't want to die
by losingit inhello everyone..... i've been thinking a lot lately, when i have a chance to be alone my mind immediately comes to the topic at hand-- i don't want to die.
what would happen to my precious little girls?
but i'm so scared that it's going to happen.

You are not going to die. You're going through emotional upset right now, but it will all be okay. You are not going to die. And there is nothing wrong with praying to your Creator. Someone created you and this fantastic, fabulous earth, it wasn't Jehovah because he seems to be a destroyer. But pray to your Creator to help get you through this.

2014 Release: God's Kingdom Rules. - The Generation Game continues
by truthseeker ini really didn't want to add yet another change to my generation chart i produced a few years ago, but on reading this chapter in the new book on overlapping generations, it ocurred to me that they really are trying to pull the wool over our eyes.. .
how can the governing body really believe this?
how can they expect any intelligent person to just swallow this without complaint?.

I feel as though they are laughing at us too. They have got us brainwashed and mind controlled with these lies just to keep us going from door-to-door to collect money for them. This is a big scam.

Any examples of the JW's turning their backs on the elderly?
by AlphaMan inthe watchtower religion is a family destroying cult.
i'm sure many of us know of people who gave their lives to the cult then have nothing and get nothing in the form of help from jw's.. i know a man who gave up a very good job with great benefits many years ago because the watchtower had a conflict with his noble occupation.
of course the end was coming very soon so the man took a meager retirement and quit because of the watchtower.

AlphaMan, I'm sure this scenario is carried out many, many times. Just change the names. Darn shame.

Good point. There are many discrepancies like that in the Bible. Keep on searching and you will find that it's so full of holes. It plagerizes from the philosophers, (Proverbs), it plagerizes from Babylonian history, (P.S. during Moses' day, Pharoahs were not called "Pharoahs", so anything pertaining to "Pharoah" has to be a hoax). Pharoahs were called "pharoahs" later, but not in Moses' day. Moses being pluched from the reeds is plagerized from other civilizations. In one case, the baby was plucked out of reeds by a man (prince, I think) instead of a princess. If Moses even existed is proven that he did not by some researchers. And --well, I'm going to stop here. You're on the right track, go for it.
