Dinosaur's & fossils records

i have been in the "truth" for some yrs., & just can't seem to reconsile the huge fossile record with the society's timetable.

if each creative day waz 7k yrs., that means the dinosaurs only lived on this earth for a few thousand yrs.= (sixth creative day 7k yrs.

to noah's flood).

I've always enjoyed discussions on Dinosaurs.

Paleontologists and other scientists are in agreement that the Dinosaurs went extinct as a species 65 million years ago. Also, scientists agree that they first appeared about 220 million years ago.

Such number cannot possibly be reconciled with any numbers that Young Earth Creationists, or the WTS, has published concerning the length of creative days. Even if the WTS has modified its 7,000 years = one day understanding (they now say each day was 'several thousand' or simply 'thousands' of years in length) such modifcation does not even come remotely close to anything agreeing with the scientifically accepted timetable concering the rise and fall of the dinosaurs.

Berylblue's statement that her daughter was da's because she did not screm during a sexual assault just reinforces the cold, uncaring, heartless, and downright wrong course of action so often taken by elders.

Wonderful news about Iraq..NO NEED FOR WAR!

well it looks like we will be sending our troops home, as we dont have to worry about iraq retaining, creating, or using weapons of mass destruction anymore (wmd).

the iraqi dictator has sent a note to the chief u. n. weapons inspector informing him that he (has just now enacted legislation making wmd's illegal.

this wonderful news was announced by a gleeful hans blix just today at a televised meeting at the u.n.

Namewitheld makes a good point. Anyone, at anytime, can go out in FS alone. They simply do not need to meet with the group. Or, they can meet on a weekday when it's likely that a sister or brother who does not know that he is a molester is leading the group.

i always found them to be painfully boring at best.

speaking of meetings, i was in a congregation where people openly admitted that the -only- reason they went was to see who brother cassanova-wanna-be (you know, the total geek who, in the world, wouldn't be able to pay a prostitute to go out with him, but in the truth, was considered a "catch" by virtue of having a penis) was going to hit on that week.

this brother routinely preyed upon women, leading them on, in some cases, rather cruelly.

I enjoyed them up until the brother chairing the meeting announced that it was time to start the meeting. After that, it was all downhill until the final "Amen". Note that I said 'final Amen' and not closing prayer, because often, the closing prayer was waaaay too long and just added one more nail to the coffin of boredom.

for anyone who doubts that paranoia amongst the denizens of dubdom is greater than ever, consider this: in years past jws used to distribute copies of phone/address lists of the members of the congregation for the convenience of the friends, and these were periodically updated.. lately in my area, however, requests for a current list were refused, with the explanation that it would be ``imprudent to keep such a list, as it would compromise the brothers' /sisters' identities were it to fall into the wrong hands."".

is this ban now oganization-wide or just a local phenomenon?

i would suspect the former.

Yeah, I'd hear the same thing every so often - but the elders would have them printed out and distributed among themselves and the MS's and Pios anyway. They came in handy.

george bush's administration and the government is at it again, warning americans to buy among other things sheets of plastic and duct tape, select a panic room in the home, and seal every orifice to prevent biological, chemical or radioactive agents from seeping through any cracks.

nevermind that those successful enough to seal a room completely air-tight will suffocate long before they become deceased from airborne agents of warfare.

Things may not be as comfy-cozy for America these days, but people all over the world have had it a lot worse for many years, and so I try to refrain from suddenly thinking that things are really "worse". They may be worse for some of us, but I think a lot of it is just a matter of perspective.
