Northeastern US......very cool this week. We had snow Monday. Normal temps are around 55, but we are down 15 degrees from that this week.
Summers are humid and often hot. Winters can be mild, or cold and snowy like this winter has been.
it is unusually cold here in oklahoma.
it was near the freezing point last night and will be again tonight.
had to grab and bring in all my hanging plants i had put out last week.. april is usually the start of hot weather here, time to start running a/c, but instead we're running our heat.. how's the weather is your area?

what posters do you like the most on this forum and why?.
Robyn just made my day...week...month....year.
so many people that are witnesses feel down and unworthy.
do you still feel this way about yourself??
?
Minimus, I would definitely agree with your posts on this thread. The measure of who and what we were by jw standards was all about hours, meeting attendance, etc. If a brother is "reaching out", his qualifications are based on not the good man that he may be, but the number of hours he spends in service.
in re: your status in the xxxx congregation of jehovah's witnesses, xxxxxxxxx.
e. when a judicial committee handling a case of wrongdoing reaches the conclusion that the unrepentant person would be disfellowshipped, then the committee will speak with the person and let the individual know of their decision to disfellowship him or her from the congregation.
the supreme court in serbian eastern orthodox diocese specifically held that the first amendment prohibits civil court inquiry into matters of internal church discipline.
Interesting post, and of course, not surprising that the Courts would not want to intervene in decisions made in a chruch setting. The whole crux is really the "voluntary association" thing.
one thing that i am becoming more and more aware of is that jehovah's witnesses can be mighty irritating people.
for example, a few jw's were gossipping about how the elders are stupid and useless.then in the same breath, when someone has a problem, one of them will ask,"why don't you tell the elders about this, so you can get some help?
" or you'll hear people complain about how there's nobody that treats them nice, and yet they are the biggest complainers in the world.
They certainly do talk about one another a lot, as Minimus' intial posts and some additional comments here suggest. Since they basically live in a shell, away from the world in a closed society (yeah, I know they say they don't, but they virtually do) they seem to have nothing to discuss but other jws and things happening in the congregation. Their gossip mill churning almost constantly.
Hamas...rats! I thought You Know was back.

Robyn, I hope my name was one of those you thought of while you were in the shower....unclothed...water cascading down your bod.....oops! I'd better be careful here!!
Could Hamas be......You Know?
how many here ever dated a "worldly" person, while still a jw?
All but one of the girls I dated were non-jws. The worst dating experiences I had were with the jw girl. I hated the chaperoning stuff.
i am vivamus' mum, and i have heard so much about you, that i'd like to meet you all myself.
i joined the witnesses in 1998, but i have always doubted the organization, but not the faith.
i am still jehovah's witness, but i am sure that the elders will kick me out as soon as possible, should they know what my real thoughts about the organization are.
Wow, Mrs. Vivamus is here!
Mum, it's great having you aboard. Your daughter is a sweetie and we really like her a lot. I'll be looking forward to your posts as well!
