  i've been lurking for about 3 months now and thought i'd better finally sign up.

  you have all been an immense help to me as i have come to realize that this isn't the truth so i want to say a great big thank you!

  what a crazy, emotional ride it is to finally face the truth about the doubts that i have carried for many years.

  Live your life for you, both you and your wife, from here on out. Just do it the way Jesus said to do it. NOT the way WT says to do it.

  I am writing you to tell you that many of the Jehovah's Witnesses who have testified have lied to the commission under oath, and they have done so with ease because of what they have been taught through their publications. They have a two-volume encyclopedia called Insight on the Scriptures which I have quoted below. They feel it is perfectly OK to lie to the commission if it means protecting Jehovah's Witnesses.

  
  

  "While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it. Jesus Christ counseled: “Do not give what is holy to dogs, neither throw your pearls before swine, that they may never trample them under their feet and turn around and rip you open.” (Mt 7:6) That is why Jesus on certain occasions refrained from giving full information or direct answers to certain questions when doing so could have brought unnecessary harm. (Mt 15:1-6; 21:23-27; Joh 7:3-10) Evidently the course of Abraham, Isaac, Rahab, and Elisha in misdirecting or in withholding full facts from nonworshipers of Jehovah must be viewed in the same light.—Ge 12:10-19; chap 20; 26:1-10; Jos 2:1-6;Jas 2:25; 2Ki 6:11-23.

  What woke you up?

  in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

  so what woke me up?

  an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

  Well, I have to say, if the witness that the Royal Commission has given on behalf of what the JW's are all about hasn't woken someone up, then nothing will. It has shown them to be caught as liars from elders on up to the governing body!

  The "mis-truths" said by brothers during the Royal Commission.

  my sister said she heard several "mis truths" or dare we say, "lies" said by the brothers on the stand during the royal commission.. 1) vin toole lied when asked about the expression "theocratic warfare".

  he said he was unaware of the term.

  2) terry obrien lied when asked whether witnesses are free to research the organisation or free to leave without any negative consequences.. 3) geoff jackson lied when he said that the organisation doesn't run a 'police state' and doesn't criticise those who want to leave.

  Geoffrey Jackson lied when he was asked if someone would get disfellowshipped for celebrating Christmas. Jackson said No. Celebrating Christmas is a disfellowshipping offense.

  so what if we made an organized, concerted effort to contact every celebrity jw that we can think of?

  i have had virtually no contact with any witnesses beside my mother for the past few years.

  she watches tv constantly and claims she has never seen anything on the watchtower abuse cases.

  Here in the midwest U.S. and not a shred of evidence that anyone heard a thing. But remember though, good old Brother Lett said that only apostates spread these vicious lies, so MAYBE some HAVE seen it but aren't saying anything!

  Why are JW talks & publications never uplifting?

  i was sitting at the meeting the other night and for the first time it hit, jw talks or magazines are never uplifting!

  i rarely, if ever hear a talk or read a magazines and have it give nothing but praise to jehovahs servants or just praise jehovah and jesus throughout it.

  they never just a read through the bible or just a bible story explained or told.

  I'm so glad you brought this up. I have noticed that in particular since the BROADCASTING has taken place the spirit in the congregations has been poor. The talks are dog shit!

  the lingo seems very very famillar with the bullying that the elders give us all.

  they want their pound of flesh...but call it loving and theocratic.
