That's not an urban legend about the NWT being the most accurate translation. I was watching Jeopardy when the question was asked. I was fully in at the time. I remember saying to my wife, 'hey honey, on Jeopardy, they just said that the NWT was the most accurate.'
I know, I was there. Don't know why they say it was a legend.

I have bipolar disorder and when I first started to find out about the truth behind everything I went nuts for a while and it was really hard. I was hospitalized for a few days because of it, but I recovered. That was in 2013. And now mentally I'm doing better than I have been in the last several years for sure. I really think that a lot of the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses are not healthy as was demonstrated during the ARC. I also think the elders have way too much power in the congregation to be healthy for the people in it. And sisters are not giving enough respect. This is just to name a few things that in the past few years that I have really noticed.

I don't think the Watchtower will give up the list come hell or high water. Nope, not gonna do it. That would cost them way more than any fine the courts could ever impose on them. Even if they said pay $10 million if you don't give us the list, I don't think they would do it.
So I think they will just go ahead and default on the case and call this one quits. I think if they release the database it will open up lawsuits in the tens of millions maybe 100's of millions because of the damage and backlash that such a database would up everything up to.

i've read many statements on this forum from people who have expressed the sentiment that you don't shove ttatt down the throat of an older person.

i found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.
it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.
there were six of us, now only four.
