I agree with the comments as far as that the ARC has made an impact. I think that here in the US there hasn't been much of an impact. But I DO think that the internet in general has been making inroads the whole time. People are curious by nature and some of them click on that site that says Jwfacts.com or something to that effect. They just do, and then, bam! Don't give up and don't give in James, there are inroads in the making.

Lets be honest we will never expose the danger to the world of JW.org
by James Mixon ini thought, ok the case in australia would open the eyes of the world about this dangerous cult.. well that passed without a ripple.
we talk about the un and the wt link, none jw's don't.
understand the significance.

This week's WT study article "Keep on the Watch" - the latest dumb article from the Gang That Couldn't Think Straight
by sir82 inok so this week's wt study article is entitled "why must we keep on the watch?"..
it is filled with statements on the importance of "being watchful" for the beginning of the "great tribulation".
paragraph 2: “keep looking, keep awake, for you do not know when the appointed time is.”after that, jesus admonished them repeatedly: “keep on the watch.”.

meeting with elders about WT involvement in UN
by LevelThePlayingField ini still go to the meetings because of my in wife and it came about that the elders knew of my pissed off attitude about the society getting involved in the un.
so the elders said they could help me get over that and wanted to meet with me.
now just to let you know, i have only told my wife and her mom so far about it, that's it.

Tallon, you said it correctly. You are so right about that. Since when does a news article automatically get called apostate just because it points to something you don't like or says that the org did something that is bad?
It just goes to show that they are really brainwashed. No wonder with all the child sex abuse cases that come up that the elders simply don't believe the accused. They think, "never could elder so and so do such a thing". And they sweep it under the rug because of not have two witnesses to the act. As if there really would ever be.
Every time I think I' fully awake, I keep waking up more and more.

New blood cards came to our hall today
by LevelThePlayingField inat the end of the meeting an elder, by way of announcements said there is a new blood document that he said would be passed out to every baptized member of the congregation by way of their service group overseer.
i knew this day was coming, just had no idea of when.
he said it was a simplified version and sure to make you sign up for suicide.

I was looking closely at the new blood card here for Ohio. There's no provision anywhere on the card that states the hospital laison elder would have access to you medical records. I know there was a thread that had the new blood card that stated that, but this one here in Ohio does not. Just FYI, made each state is different.

I agree. They didn't even want me to open the folder I had that contained the United Nations letter about the WT involvement. They treated that folder like it contained the plague.
Now just thinking here simply and plainly. If there was anything that was corrupt in the org and someone of good standing was to bring this forth, don't you think common sense would say at least peak at it, give the man a chance to say what it's about. But no way, and to the effect that even if it's true, "it doesn't even matter" was the quote I got from the one elder. So scoff at the Catholic church for doing it and ridicule them, but if someone detects the same completely ignore it? This is the essence of hypocrisy.
You know, I'm really glad now. It's been 2 days since I met with those two elders, but I'm really glad because it SHOWS me what the org is really about. Now, prior to this I heard recordings and many youtube experiences but when you experience it first hand, it brings on a whole new meaning and reality. It really sinks in and stays with you. You think about it through out the day and during the night. You keep hearing the elder say, "this is apostate!" again and again, and it really sinks in. In essence he was calling me an apostate simply for finding a news article critical of JW's. But my point is that when you actually experience something like this, and many of you reading this already have, then it becomes more real to you and you see the real org. Yes, the real org.

further from ARC
by zeb inthe royal commission has published 35 submissions received from a range of organisations and individuals in response to its consultation paper: best practice principles in responding to complaints of child sexual abuse in institutional contexts.
the commission received submissions from sector peak bodies, government agencies, survivor advocacy and support groups, religious institutions and other interested parties.
the consultation paper, which was released in march this year, sought input into which matters should be canvassed in a complaint handling policy and how those matters might be addressed, as well as the royal commission’s suggested best practice principles.

I never did find out who spoke to the elders about it. I think it was my mother in law though because the conversations sometimes with her got heated.

A heart breaking story. But like I told my brother in law who's not a witness and doesn't know much about them, they are no different than anyone else.
