Both Spinks and O'Brien pretty much object to every question. They could simply answer the question, Is it in your policy? That's a yes or a no. But no, not for Spinks or O'Brien, they have to weasel around. But good old Stewart doesn't fall for it. He just takes them right back to the original question.

What is having the biggest impact on the watchtower Bible and tract society?
by UnshackleTheChains inhi all.. this is a reasonable question and would love to know what you think is having the biggest impact on watchtower.
there is a plethora of websites talking negatively of watchtower.
there are the never ending court cases regarding child abuse allegations.

I think it's money, or was money until they sold their HQ in Brooklyn and it's child abuse cases and the internet.

Looking forward to going to Memorial this year!
by kpop ini have some tricks to play.
i know it may sound childish but i feel that creating havoc and forcing the memorial to be postponed will be the highlight of the night!
wish me luck!.

I can think of two things that if come up, they would absolutely cancel the Memorial, no questions asked. Both of them lead to jail time and a permanent record.
Please vent here, that's what many of us do. Like the others said most individual JW's are really nice people. But the org on the other hand, not so much. I hope all the advice on here has you thinking twice.

fromBarbara Anderson/charities commission child abuse inquiry UK
by zeb injehovah’s witnesses “child safeguarding policy” (great britain, ireland, uk) – 2017. analysis of the child safeguarding policy of jehovah’s witnesses in the united kingdom and the republic of ireland [2017].
by barbara anderson.
2013’s “watch tower bible and tract society of britain and congregations of jehovah’s witnesses in the united kingdom and ireland child safeguarding policy” (wtb&ts of britain’s csp) document was considered to be the official watch tower policy until the release on january 1 of the 2017 “child safeguarding policy of jehovah’s witnesses in the united kingdom, etc.,” (csp of jws in the uk).”.

So that's it for witnesses to appear or is there more coming? I hated how O'Brien and Spinks objected to everything under the sun. Is the ocean blue? O'Brien "Ah, it depends on where you stand. Now if you mean blue like the sky then...."
Regards to Spinks answering a question, "No, it's not like that at all. If you drop a ball from a 10 foot ceiling you see, and then using the 'half way there math principle' so half way is 5 feet, then half of that would be 2 1/2 feet. Well, you see by counting it on the way down by halfs, then mathematically the ball will never reach the floor. So, NO, it's not like that at all!" :(
Edit: Ok, I just looked at the witness list. It's just the two eggheads, O'Brien and Spinks.

March Broadcast Governing Body Truly Enjoy our new Facility Warwick
by Buster k inhello everyone first post, i will leave my whole story for another post.

Well if Warwick was built from the sales in Brooklyn then that would mean that they have had the money to build it pretty much from the start, and the sales, about $1 Billion, are just extra money now.
Or is it, because about a year ago Lett was begging for money saying, "the amount of money coming in from donations does not equal the outflow", so then they were just begging for more even though they had the money in the bank to build Warwick?
OR, does it mean that they took out a bridge loan while building Warwick? I almost think the bridge loan might have been what they did because remember, they cut back on printing and did completely away with printing on many publications, laid off all kinds of bethelites, got rid of pretty much all special pioneers, had all construction stop world wide except for Warwick and the UK, put a hold on building about 90% of all Kingdum Hells, and I think there is more, but can't remember. So basically the org had all the signs of needing money.

How did you feel when you got baptized?
by Schnufti inback in 2005, i remember sitting in the stadium in the special rows with 42 others.
8000 people were looking at us - maybe even with a binocular - while listening to the speech.
my family and my friends among them, being all proud of me.. i don't remember being enthusiastic.

I remember well. It was 1989. I felt so happy. For the next two hours I couldn't have been happier. But in about 2 months, the then PO asked me one day as I was stepping into the Hall, Do you think "once saved always saved"? I looked at him like huh? I asked what he meant and he said my service time was low (only on Saturdays. I worked full time M-F). He berated me and I thought it was mostly good.
Boy have I learned from a lot since then.

Picture worth 1000 words
by ILoveTTATT2 in(matthew 25:41-46) 41 “then he will say, in turn, to those on his left, ‘be on your way from me, you who have been cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 for i became hungry, but you gave me nothing to eat, and i got thirsty, but you gave me nothing to drink.
43 i was a stranger, but you did not receive me hospitably; naked, but you did not clothe me; sick and in prison, but you did not look after me.’ 44 then they also will answer with the words, ‘lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to you?’ 45 then he will answer them with the words, ‘truly i say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of these least ones, you did not do it to me.’ 46 and these will depart into everlasting cutting-off, but the righteous ones into everlasting life.”.

Wow, see, just the other day while at the KH they were saying some mish-mash about how the preaching work saves lives and I was thinking, so do the churches, but literally by giving food and shelter and clothes AND they preach the word to them. But the churches don't single out just preaching and nothing else. Jesus said feed the poor too. But 99% of the JW's don't do that.

Follow up: the baby did not survive
by Captain Schmideo2 init was always a long shot anyway.
but, after a week of emotional pain for the mom, and extreme physical pain for a helpless infant, the baby's body finally succumbed.. all those prayers from the parents, from family, from friends, were absolutely worthless.
that is a deity for ya!

Wow, baker, that news report from abc, man. That car was totally wrecked, and everyone just walked away from it. If this happened in a KH all the publishers would say it was Jehovah. But since it happened in a church, they will say Ecc 9:11, unforeseen occurance befalls them all.

If you had the opportunity to create religious doctrine from scratch, what rule would your church or nation have?
by Chook inwould you teach a heaven , hell, jesus , paradise.
what rule structure for discipline ect ,ect,.
-
LevelThePlayingField
I would teach the heavenly calling for all Christians, no hell just death, and paradise after the thousand years have ended. Jesus would be taught as having deity.
I would have transparency from the top down. A bi-annual report on how much the church brought in donations and to the exact penny where those donations went. I would allow all to vote on what projects to do and how to spend the money. After all, it's their church right?
I would never prevent people from asking questions, of any kind. We all know the questions that can land us in the elders room and from there the possibility to a JC, well in my church there would be no such thing. Ask away. It would be stated from the platform that questioning is a good thing. We have truths from the Bible, so it ought to stand up to scrutiny.
I don't know how I would implement discipline. I haven't gotten that far on my spiritual journey. People could have beards if they wanted, or any hair style for that matter, and that subject would never even come up in any sermon or private conversation. The WT makes it a big deal by always talking about it. You can where whatever you are comfortable wearing to church. While I don't smoke, smokers would not have any sanctions on them at all, nor would it be a topic for the church to say anything about, one way or the other. So if you've read this far you can see that there's not a lot a person can get stumbled on in my blessed congregation. :)
There would be church picknics, a youth group and seniors group too.
Now, how I would accomplish all of this, well, there are smarter people out there than me, so I would let them handle that. I just want God without Watchtower.

See if they have there country's flag in the window at the Kingdom Hall. I know they do this in Chili. If they do have a flag, take some good pictures and share them with us here.
