CO asked for everyone 20 years old & younger for a group photo

there was a co visit in ohio a couple weeks ago.

when he was finishing up his sunday talk he said that he would like if "all the children that are from this congregation, not if you're just visiting, but from this congregation to come on up on the stage right after the meeting because i want to get a picture of you.".

i thought to myself, why?

I thought to myself, WHY? Why would he want a picture of everyone who is 20 and younger?

Has anyone else had this happen in their hall? What could he possibly want with it?

If WT ever did actually change some of the things from the past online to make it seem like they never said that, I bet you the average JW would believe only what's on line, even if you showed it to them in print.

Or they would say, yeah, but they HAD to change it because that's old light now, or that was the old understanding, so that's why they've updated the new one.

yet it seems that the apostle paul said to shun an unrepentant sinner, "stop keeping company" and "not even eating with such a man" 1co 5:9-12. it seems like shunning is what paul wanted us to do.

but honestly, it doesn't seem right to me.

I need your help. Many have said that Jesus never shunned anyone. Yet it seems that the Apostle Paul said to shun an unrepentant sinner, "stop keeping company" and "not even eating with such a man" 1Co 5:9-12. It seems like shunning is what Paul wanted us to do. But honestly, it doesn't seem right to me.

So how do you know that shunning is not God's way, for those of you who still believe. How, from a biblical stand point do you reconcile this?

Cofty, if you could respond to this as well, I would much like to hear what you have to say, as I respect your in depth knowledge.

Any help would be appreciated. I have learned that the truth does not come from Jehovah's Witnesses. So I am open to what you have to say.

From the frequently asked questions part under Membership:

What if a person no longer preaches or attends your meetings? Do you view that person as having resigned?

No, we do not. Resigning, or disassociating oneself, is different from becoming weak in faith. Often, those who for a time slow down or stop in their worship have not abandoned their faith but are suffering from discouragement. Rather than shunning such ones, we try to give them consolation and support. (1 Thessalonians 5:14; Jude 22) If the person wants help, congregation elders take the lead in providing spiritual assistance.—Galatians 6:1; 1 Peter 5:1-3.

However, the elders are not authorized to coerce or pressure someone to remain as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Each person makes his own choice regarding religion. (Joshua 24:15) We believe that those who worship God must do so willingly, from the heart.—Psalm 110:3;Matthew 22:37.

Now we all know that this information is pretty close to out right lying because if you stop attending meetings and stop going out in service, you WILL be shunned, it's only a matter of time.

PIMO: Your help needed! (Field Service Groups video evidence)

calling all who are still "in": i need your help!.

i’m putting together a damming video with evidence of jehovah’s witnesses “organizing” the collection of data in field service – data about when people were not at home, if a child answered the door and so on.

since a leaked letter dated 2-aug-2017, where elders were instructed to destroy all house-to-house records and not tell publishers how to collect data about people not-at-home, we know that the practise has continued.. how you can help.

I agree. When you have 8 million people in a database and know how many hours each of them do in the ministry every month, including and reproofs, df, appointments, ect, then you can hire some PhD's to go over the information with a fine-toothed-comb. You can get software to get algorithms to see, well like Gorby said, who is valuable to the org. To see what behaviors in the key data make one prone to apostasy. Who are the big givers of time and money in the org. The list goes on.

The 1993 Proclaimers book, PDF available again? (Atlantis, where are you?)

a thread began some 10 years ago when our friend atlantis made a pdf available of jws modern history book.

yes, that book is available on my 2015 library cd but only certain chapters.

naturally, wt eliminated certain entire chapters and you can only guess why.

That's a son of gun. I have the 2014 CD ROM and in that version there is all the chapters. Now in the 2015, you say, they took out certain chapters? They are snakes!
