  11 Today, we are blessed with much knowledge of Jehovah’s works of creation and the outworking of his purpose. The world promotes higher education and advanced learning. Yet, the experience of many shows that pursuing such things often leads to loss of faith and loss of love for God. The Bible, however, urges us not only to love knowledge but also to acquire wisdom and understanding. That means to learn how to use the knowledge that God has given us so that we can benefit ourselves and others.

  Isn't that double talk or is is it just me???

  Deconstructing Splanes 'Generation' explanation

  at around 4 minutes into the september 2015 video splane said "for the man and the baby to be part of josephs generation they would have had to have lived at least some time during joseph's lifespan.".

  this is the lynchpin of the wt argument, that two lives must overlap to be considered the same generation.. let's take an example of twins who are born just a few minutes apart.

  obviously, these twins are the same generation as each other.

  You couldn't be more right. I think the JW religion will become more & more like it has started to become like it is now: a feel good religion that the JW.ORG has become.

  I am writing you to tell you that many of the Jehovah's Witnesses who have testified have lied to the commission under oath, and they have done so with ease because of what they have been taught through their publications. They have a two-volume encyclopedia called Insight on the Scriptures which I have quoted below. They feel it is perfectly OK to lie to the commission if it means protecting Jehovah's Witnesses.

  
  

  "While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it. Jesus Christ counseled: “Do not give what is holy to dogs, neither throw your pearls before swine, that they may never trample them under their feet and turn around and rip you open.” (Mt 7:6) That is why Jesus on certain occasions refrained from giving full information or direct answers to certain questions when doing so could have brought unnecessary harm.   What woke you up?

  in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

  so what woke me up?

  an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

  Well, I have to say, if the witness that the Royal Commission has given on behalf of what the JW's are all about hasn't woken someone up, then nothing will. It has shown them to be caught as liars from elders on up to the governing body!

  The "mis-truths" said by brothers during the Royal Commission.

  my sister said she heard several "mis truths" or dare we say, "lies" said by the brothers on the stand during the royal commission.. 1) vin toole lied when asked about the expression "theocratic warfare".

  he said he was unaware of the term.

  2) terry obrien lied when asked whether witnesses are free to research the organisation or free to leave without any negative consequences.. 3) geoff jackson lied when he said that the organisation doesn't run a 'police state' and doesn't criticise those who want to leave.

  Geoffrey Jackson lied when he was asked if someone would get disfellowshipped for celebrating Christmas. Jackson said No. Celebrating Christmas is a disfellowshipping offense.
