I Hate the Sound of the Word Jehovah

listening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.

every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.

it stands for so much that i have contempt for.

Dunedain - I just typed it how the letter was read, but the coordinator probably just read it wrong, but yeah, in reality it probably is a typo.

Sorry Cofty, you wrote some pretty awesome posts, like the one on blood, the best man. But I love the name Jehovah and what it stands for. Now the JW's on the other hand, yes, they need a lot of work.

..."I find it necessary to inform you of some recent developments. Sadly, on Thursday of last week, Joy and I received a letter from the branch office which has determined that we should transfer to the regular pioneer activity. This will go into effect December 1, 2015, just a month away. I know that this comes as a surprise to you. We were surprised as well.

"We did not think it would have been best to announce this during our interview during our circuit assembly last weekend. It would have distracting to the program that followed our interview. Additionally the friends who attended the first assembly two weeks ago would not have heard about it accept by hearsay. Therefore we decided to have it announced by letter in this manner. I'm sure that you will have questions to ask regarding our transition. We are at a disadvantage as we honestly have few answers at this time. Almost all of the visits that have been scheduled will be covered by a substitute circuit overseer. I am arranging for and scheduling them now. The branch office will appoint another circuit overseer in due time and will inform you by letter. For those congregations we have visited, we thank you for your support during the week of activity and for your hospitality. For those congregations that we will not get to visit we are saddened that we will not have some time together. However please be assured of our love. We are confident that you will be cared for by Jehovah's organization. As for Joy and myself, we spent sometime with our respective families before we transitioned to another assignment in Jehovah's service.

We have recently heard of special pioneers, temporary special pioneers, temporary bethelites and bethelites who have been reassigned to other forms of service. so, when people post about being shunned by their friends, i've heard several posters say things like, "their friendship is conditional.

real friendships aren't conditional.".

i'm sorry, but that just isn't really true.. if you and i were friends, there are conditions.

Say a brother is DA'd or DF'd for a valid or invalid reason. Now all the other JW friends of this person now suddenly are not friends to this person because of the announcement from the platform yet those mutual friends have done nothing in their friendship to each other at all to meet any type of conditions that would warrant an end to that friendship. THAT is where the JW conditional friendship does not make any sense.

well i just watched this "epic" video, i would have to say this is probably the most disturbing video yet.

there campaign to get people back is just pathetic in the most mind-manipulating way.

"welcome home" or "come back home" are they serious?

It goes back to how religion plays a major and general role for people in their lives. It provides COMFORT. And emotion is involved in that. So the society has been playing their trump card heavily lately with their music videos to play upon peoples need for comfort. It goes with the territory.

Special Pioneer Sister-in-Law and Husband just got their letter.

well, my sister-in-law and her husband, special pioneers for only a couple of years, just got their letter.. her comment was along the lines of, "they're having to do this because they forgave all those kingdom hall loans a few years ago and the brothers aren't donating anymore.".

when my wife told me, i laughed so hard i farted.

You are right. Not that we need any more proof, but this is just another proof that Jah is NOT behind them, because he isn't providing.

Being interviewed by police tomorrow

well tomorrow is a big day for me.

i'm finally going to be interviewed by the police about what happened to me as a kid.. im running the whole gamut of emotions at the moment.

sad, anxious, angry, guilt, fear and many more that cannot be quantified.. i feel physically sick, cannot sleep, have lost my appetite and i am desperately trying not to self harm.. i've got my sister to thank for getting this far.
