Indeed another case of child abuse cover up. So much for what the WT said in their rebuttal to the RC. They say they don't cover up anything. Well this is like what the 10th one I've seen now in the last couple years. -

What made you turn atheist or agnostic?
by LevelThePlayingField inif you were a jw and are now an atheist or agnostic, what was the tipping point that made you turn to it?.
the reason i ask is i have noticed that many who leave the jw's seem to turn to atheism, versus still having some form of a faith.
have many of you given up on god first or have you had atheistic views first and then found atheism to be true.

Peer presure to use Ipad
by Gorbatchov inearlier this season i advised my retired father to ignore the use of a tablet during his kingdom hall congregational visits.
his response was hopefull, but between the lines i could hear he had no choice.. yesterday he showed me his new 600 euro 64 gb ipad air 2. he had no clue what he has to do with it, he told me one of the elders will install the jw.org apps.. so, i feel he had to deal with presure to buy this ipad and i think he is not the only one.. do you recognize this?.

See, those old timers would have knocked them right in the head for that...staying home...all they had to do was grab a Bible and song book and book-it to the meeting, but who am I. -

by Solaris11 inwarren borsje an active 2nd generation jehovah's witness who made millions as a get-rich get salesman was found dead earlier this year in a hotel in seminyak, bali (reference).
reports given to the police confirmed borsje appeared intoxicated prior to his death and needed assistance by fellow hotel guests to get to his room.
when he didn't show up the following day to check out, hotel staff found him lying face down with blood around his mouth.

I think the general pressure is there, and has been there for a while. For example. When it's time to sing one of the new songs. Well, it's not in the song book, so if you don't have an "electronic device" to download it to then you have to rely on someone else to get it to you hopefully, and that cause undue anxiety. There simply is no provision in place to supply the songs. The slave didn't mail out a leaflet with all the new songs in it for everyone to have, which they would have done years ago, and bam, everyone has a copy. But no, now either you have tablet and have your new song, or you feel left out.
Another example is the videos. Many times during the service meeting we are asked to watch the videos ahead of time. If you don't have the internet or a tablet you are out again.
And now especially it's true out in service where you can "count" placements of videos shown at the door, oh my. You can't do that with out the marvelous tablet. Again, the old timers feeling left out.
All this undue anxiety put upon older ones in the congregation to buy a tablet, which they don't want, and maybe can't afford, and for sure don't know how to use. But the GB doesn't care, all this technology saves them money. And as all of us already know, money has been running the show for a little while.

Man, if the mom has to go to court and that tape is played in front of the judge...well, I'd like to see the look on the mom's face, that's for sure. I'd to see just how firm and sure she is about her words then. I'd bet she'd like to take back at least a few of them.
There was no love in her voice, no love at all. Only concern that her boy follow the Watchtower way and that's it. She didn't give a lick about what he had to say or think in the least.
And it sounded like the other person in the car was also a female, not sure who that would have been, maybe someone older?
At any rate, this is a really good example of the way the truth really is behind closed doors. I've seen it myself many times. It's our way our the highway. It's way worse than the world's way. And I know, cause I was raise in the world.

2014-12-17-BOE-Children Give Up Your Pocket Money!
by Atlantis inpetra!
2015-12-17-boe already, you dear brothers have done so well, sending gifts both large and small.
for in-stance, two children, five and seven years old, sent their pocket money to help build our new bethel instead of going to the circus, writing, "this is much better than that!

Love you Outlaw. Man you are so funny. Always make me laugh.
Those hypocrites at Watchtower are so nutty. "We don't solicit funds". 2 Cor 9:6. Yeah, right. Tell that to everyone in the UK and Ireland and see what they say!
If this letter would have been written 25 years ago, people would be sitting in the KH with their mouths hanging open, or worse yet some would have walked right out.
Wait, did I say, "worse yet" I meant, better yet. Yeah, that's it....those Watchtower snobs...I tell ya.

Literature being discontinued, including Isaiah's Prophecy and Reasoning book
by Richard_I incongregations get an annual letter that tells what can be ordered for literature (it's mainly a list of audio cds/dvds for the deaf), but this time it included publications that will be discontinued, and this included the isaiah's prophecy book and the reasoning book, and i think i saw the draw close to jehovah book.
i meant to take a picture of the letter but forgot.
the branch is only going to give what they have on stock, when that stock depletes that's it, you won't be able to order those publications anymore.. this is in canada so i don't know if this is worldwide..

I'm with smiddy on this one. The org definitely wants to erase their history. I don't doubt that they will do away with the Watchtower CD ROM in the near future and just tell people, "it's all on jw.org now." This way, no one will know anything prior to 2000, because the Watchtower on the CD went back to 1950 and the Awake to 1970.
