lets imagine you're a jehovah's witness elder.

you have zero theological training aside from what you've read in the watchtower and the currently still approved watchtower publications, you have zero counseling skills, and no medical training.

a recently bereaved sister approaches you in tears and tells you she just wants to die.. what do you do?.

If I remember right, part of this video was shown at a service meeting (what's the new name?) a couple months back. I asked an elder, so what if that sister went ahead and killed herself that night after the brothers left? He just got wide-eye and looked at me and said, well, I guess she'll be with us in paradise.

WTF!

I looked back at him, just as wide-eyed and said, yeah, but don't you think it would have been helpful for the elders to suggest for her to get some professional help at least? He just said, that's a good point.

But it's too late, the video is already out there.

You know, it's funny. The JW's would never produce a live stage performance like this, ever. What a difference in religions. But yeah, just throw scriptures at people is what elders do.

this has been a controversial subject with some even claiming that jesus never existed.

I know, I felt the same way when I read the short article. I thought, that's it? Just a few quotes from historians of the time and that's your proof? Oh, and the Bible says so too, yeah, forgot about that. After I read the article I thought it was really lame. Anyone could have done that.

"raised in the truth" during the 50s, 60s,and 70s i repeatedly read and heard from the platform how reading the magazines weekly "was the equivalent of a college education" and how many had turned their family economic situation around by being "trustworthy" and giving up expensive bad habits most "worldly people" had.

sounded good.. what is the reality?

how does avoiding higher education, and then spending up to 20 hours a week getting ready for, commuting, and then participating in meetings and field service affect family finances?.

He said he will be present personally each day during the Royal Commission and will attempt to keep you informed as it progresses. Wow. Can you imagine if that was Geoffrey Jackson saying all that? Well listen to the whole video for the whole thing because it's exactly opposite of Jackson said.

I think the January 2017 Watchtower said something about a rap like this coming out in a JW broadcast very soon, um, NOT! But very funny no doubt. Man, those JW's will never and I repeat never, well, maybe never, but a long time from now before they begin rappin about their faith.

I say that because I never thought they would have GB member on the TV like all the other TV others.

It's cool that you recognized that the sister in the video was about that age and still living at home. Yeah, why hasn't she moved out on her own by now? Also, the GB puts watching sports in such a bad spot light in this segment along with him simply showing her a car that he was supposedly interested in. Well, hey, welcome to the real world. Life is not all about meetings and field service or did they not get the memo.

What is the biggest hypocrisy you have seen as a witness?

i have far too many to name, but ill start with obscene music, gambling and cussing like a sailor.

all the while preaching to "worldly people" about their impending death at armageddon.

The United Nations scandal was the biggest thing to me. The WT was in bed with them for 10 years and hardly a witness knows about it to this day. That's the biggest hypocrisy.
