well last sunday night i got phone call from t- dum, he informed me that t-dee was listening in, no doubt practicing his short hand.
t-dum went on to say how he was concerned that we were making the biggest mistake of our lives, yada yada.
As fellow apostates, let's try to get along. I've said things that got a few votes down, but I don't let it bother me too much. It's actually a good thing that we DO have opinions, whereas JW's simply don't. They are afraid to disagree, they fear that.
Here we can vent. So go ahead and vent, but vent politely if possible.
so this happened awhile back ago, i was talking to this bethelite that i respect, i consider him to be very sincere.
this was during the time i had discovered the un association the society had as an ngo.
i already knew the answer, but to see his response, i asked him "was the society ever part of the united nations?
I tried to tell someone about the UN thing. All they said back to me is that I wasn't very humble if all I wanted to do was bring down the society and why am I not being humble. (be humble, sit down)
So if the "society" shot and killed a bunch of folks, then "all I'm trying to do is bring down the society". Hmmm.
the reason i like this site is in the fact that it speaks the truth warts and all.
the very title 'jehovahs witness discussion forum' draws the avarage witness to the site, perhaps thinking it is 'apostate' free.. the good thing is that jw's can read the real truth about the organisation/society...no holds barred.
my hope is that more people caught up in this captive religious organisation will open their eyes to reality!.
I know I stumbled on this site when I was fully in a few years ago, and the rest is history. So, yeah, I hear ya.
witnessing would cease, would it flow on to attendance numbers at meetings and then total decimation of the church..
I was always told that they need your time so that the society knows where to send special pioneers and where the need is great, and also how to keep up with literature demands. Back in the day, I really believed it. Now it's all a sham for sure.
i met with a jw today and they showed me a picture of the new style kh build.
the building was located in a ***strip mall**** in florida.
i'm always amazed (and disgusted) at the new and inventive ways they think of expanding their real estate holdings.. along that vein...i recently discovered this: .

i was born in 1984 so was only 9yo in 1995. i read on various posts on here and on other websites about false expectations about 1975 and 1995. i'm aware of the 1975 failure but what was said in 1995?.
Here's a funny thing. If you do a search for "1975" in the 2014 cd rom, it comes up 666 times in the Awake.

Yeah, I agree. This is very professional looking. And quite nice actually.
we all know the rate of suicide is high among jw's.
my question is this- was there some subliminal messages that encourage this.
i was a born in and my entire life i would have these thoughts that could come out of nowhere,"kill yourself.
I think the religion in general, with all it's teachings makes for a bad mix of emotions and mental health. For one thing, the "do more" mentality is constantly pushed. But Jesus was not that way in the Bible. I don't know, I'm sure others will add to this. But it does seem that JW's have a high rate of suicides.

i would like to tell you guys about one of the things that bothered me most, despite of being something quite simple, but since it affected me directly, so.... well, being a ministerial servant, i knew the bad view the jw in general have towards beards.
I think that in 20 years the beard thing will be all but gone. Have a beard or not, no big deal.
But right now, it's an act of congress if you have one.
