Accounts report at Circuit Assemblies to go away

i was at the regional convention and asked an elder why is that at the assemblies their is an accounts report but not at the conventions?

he said, well actually they got a letter and in it said that in a little while they will do away with the accounts report stating how much the assembly costs for the weekend and just go to donation basis like at the conventions.. my first thought was, "they will donate even less now.".

anybody else hear about such a thing?.

china is not alone in having security cameras in its cities, but what is special about the chinese system is that it is linked to a facial recognition system that can identify people in a few seconds.

china, again like some other nations, has personal identity cards with a photographic image on it .

(australia has not, but drivers licences do have an image and such licences are used as de facto identity cards).

Sad that the U.S. wasn't interested in this camera. They could have been the ones to catch the "50 wanted suspects". Strange.

Am I imagining this cover or what?

i am trying to remember a cover of a wt or awake that had a picture of a priest or maybe even the pope.

i think the issue came out in the height of the catholic sexual abuse cases and being disappointed in your religion or something like that.

i have searched this site and google images but not be using the correct key words.. the reason i am looking for it is because should it come up that jw's are being persecuted due to all the recent publicity i would like to ask a jw if the wt and the mainstream media were 'persecuting' the catholic church when they were uncovering wrongdoing in that religion or any other.

i recently had a discussion with a jw concerning a change in wording of a scripture - in fact this was my all time favourite scripture, namely, micah 6:8.. my view is that the wtbts have deliberately changed the wording and meaning of the said scripture.

the other person is of the opinion that that is not the case.

It says, "And humbly covenant loyalty and to love justly to do" for that part of the verse.

SBF very good points. I never thought of the point you made that nearly all of their new propaganda comes in the electronic form, so it's very hard to monetize this. Most JW's only think to donate for actual paper books and literature. But at the conventions now they don't even do that. They just say get it on jw.borg.

Too bad for them.
