It will be something if they start doing this everywhere. Otherwise, is this perhaps an isolated incident?

Library now cleared out
by UnshackleTheChains inwell, it looks like the axe has finally fallen on our kh library.
during a deep clean of the local kh, a brother suddenly informed everyone 'whikst cleaning' that all the old books including bound volumes of the watchtower etc was to be chucked in the skip.. from what i heard, some were taken aback by this and quite annoyed that no announcement was made; that no one was given the choice of taking some of these books home to keep.
i mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century.

What Do You Think Will Be The Next Big Change In The Watchtower?
by minimus ini think there will be a change in the 144000 belief.
too many witnesses think they have a heavenly hope.
maybe 1914 will be discarded too.. what is your watchtower prediction?

I hate to say it, but, I think the GB will take over even more control, somehow. Seems like there's an elder's letter for just about every little thing. -

February 2018 Watchtower - Addressing abuse Victims
by Listener inthere's a preview note on one of the articles in this newly released watchtower.
the note can be found on an article titled "part 1 of 4 love and justice in ancient israel".the note states -.
this article is the first in a series of four that will discuss why we can be sure that jehovah cares about us.
-
LevelThePlayingField
I think this WT article and the rest in the series is their attempt to try and put into the minds of JW's a number of key points to get them to believe the governing body over common sense and media coverage:
1. You can't blame the org (Jehovah) for the child abuse
2. The same type of things happened to God's org (Israelites), so it can happen to God's org now
3. Don't try to take matters into your own hands, wait on Jehovah (do nothing) and he will take care of it at Armageddon because he sees everything.
4. There are lot's of fine examples of brothers & sisters who were abused and they are coping by relying on Jehovah (doing all things JW). Then they will list a couple examples of JW's with a snippet of their story to make others who were abused think "if they can rely on Jehovah, why can't I do so also?"
5. We must never be like Satan and the opposers by trying to intervene or be critical of Jehovah's org. (Don't try to steady the ark, or don't say where is Moses and start doing foolish things)
On a side note:
I noticed that in the recent WT article on "Do You Have the Facts", twice they said that disaster was averted by the people relying on "trustworthy men" to get all the facts for them. Then in the article, they slyly make the assertion that you can get the facts on jw news tab. So, trust the governing body, "you'll be safe with us"

Conventions, Kingdom Halls, Relief Funds, and Other Financial Scams and Schemes of Jehovah’s Witnesses
by Watchtower-Free ina few seconds ago this hit the net todayhttp://jwvictims.org/conventions-kingdom-halls-relief-funds-and-other-financial-scams-and-schemes-of-jehovahs-witnesses/.
conventions, kingdom halls, relief funds, and other financial scams and schemes of jehovahs witnesses.
jehovahs witnesses often note that at their meetings (like church services), they dont pass a collection plate.

Today at the Circuit Assembly in London, OH they said that so far in 2018, there has been $30 million spent on relief work. My guess is that for every house that gets repairs they are asking the owner to send in their check from the insurance company to Warwick.

JW: How was your morning in service?
Me: Good. At this one door, I was "boasting in Christ" to this lady. (Phil 3:3)
JW: What?
Me: Yeah, "so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified" (2 Thess 1:12)
JW: But...what about Jehovah??
Me: "do not become ashamed about the witness about our Lord" (2 Tim 1:8)
JW: Uhh...
Me: Yeah, I told that lady, "Rise, get baptized, and wash your sins away by your calling on his name.’ (Acts 22:16)
JW: Why you preaching your own thing?
Me: For I am preaching, not about myself, but about Jesus Christ as Lord (2 Co 4:5)
JW: But, what about Jehov..-
Me: (cutting her off) Look, let's change the subject. I heard there was 8 baptized at your assembly. It's nice to see that "many are becoming believers in the Lord" (Acts 9:42)
JW: You mean they search the scriptures and come to Jehovah's organization!
Me: Nope. They should have come to Jesus so that they have life. (John 5:40)
JW: Nope?! You got it all wrong. Romans 10:13 says to call on Jehovah to get saved?!
Me: tisk, tisk. Acts 8:12 says "there's no other name than JESUS to get saved"
JW: big eye-roll
Me: Look here, I'm ready to die for the name of Jesus (Acts 21:13)
JW: Well, I'll die for Jehovah, so there! (thumbing nose in air)
Me: Let me cut to the chase. Do you have Christ's spirit? (Romans 8:9)
JW: what?
Me: We need the spirit of Jesus (Phil 1:9)
JW: I belong to Jehovah and his organization!
Me: I belong to Jesus, he's my master (1 Co 3:23, Col 3:24)
Me: You're lookin at me funny. Just ask brother elder about what I'm saying. He's "fine soldier of Christ" (2 Tim 2:3)
JW: (Clearly upset) Look brother, you need to stop all this Jesus stuff. You sound like Christendom.
Me: (stepping closer) No one can separate me from the love of Christ, it compels me! (Ro 8:35, 2 Co 5:14)
JW: (Bigger eye-roll) When I got baptized, I decided to get to know Jehovah and his org.
Me: I decided not to know anything except Jesus. He's the perfector of my faith. (1 Co 2:2, Heb 12:2)
JW: Jehovah is God!!!!
Me: Jesus is Lord! (1 Co 12:3)
JW: But we honor Jehovah more than Jesus
Me: If you don't honor Jesus to the SAME level as you do Jehovah, then it's like you don't honor God at all.
JW: (Giving up and starting to walk away) Oh, Jesus...
Me: That's right.

kingdom halls
by pepperheart indo you think the watchtower will sell off any more kingdom hall after the 3,000 have been sold of and why do you think that.
-
LevelThePlayingField
I think the 3,000 was the low hanging fruit. After those, I think they'll reassess, and if need be sell a few hundred more maybe.

Court documents reveal Watchtower's tactics in Montana child abuse case
by LevelThePlayingField inthere were numerous objections and claims that watchtower lawyers made to try and get out of being held responsible for their negligence and malice.
here’s the juicy ones:.
montana is a mandatory reporting state, but watchtower lawyers claimed that the law for reporting abuse only applies to “individuals” and they are “corporations”.

There were numerous objections and claims that Watchtower lawyers made to try and get out of being held responsible for their negligence and malice. Here’s the juicy ones:
Montana is a mandatory reporting state, but Watchtower lawyers claimed that the law for reporting abuse only applies to “individuals” and they are “corporations”. Victims lawyers win argument with traffic laws analogy saying traffic laws applies to drivers, not employers or corporations. But, employers may be held responsible when their drivers are negligent and hurt others. (see page 15)
Then Watchtower lawyers switch their argument and say that they didn’t report the abuse because reports of abuse can be kept confidential under clergy law, but victims lawyers proved it was NEVER kept confidential because… (see pages 15-16)
Elders told the abuser what the victim said about him
Elders told other elders in the legal department in NY
The legal department told the elders in the Service department (CCJW)
Service dept (CCJW) writes a letter back to original elders.
(Bottom of page 14)
Then Watchtower lawyers switch tactic again and say they can make their own definition of what “confidential” means and the court can’t say otherwise. (p.16)
Can you believe the arrogance?!

Question for elders about child abuse
by LevelThePlayingField inmust the testimony of two witnesses of child abuse be them witnessing the abuse as it happens (seeing or hear it), or can it be two witnesses of strong circumstantial evidence as described on the back page of the july study edition watchtower?.
if the two witnesses must have actually witnessed the abuse take place, how would that work in the two scenarios below?.
scenario 1.. pioneer johnny has been privately counseled by the elders in the past not to be so “touchy” with kids in the hall, always given them big hugs and the like.

If the two witnesses must have actually witnessed the abuse take place, how would that work in the two scenarios below?
Scenario 1.
Pioneer Johnny has been privately counseled by the elders in the past not to be so “touchy” with kids in the hall, always given them big hugs and the like. One day Johnny goes out in service and there are four people in the car. A married couple, pioneer Johnny and 14 year old Suzy. They finish up their field service and the married couple tell Johnny to just drop them off at their house instead of at the Hall (one of their cars is there) because they had forgotten to turn off the oven with food in it. So, Johnny drops them off and on the short drive to the Hall, Johnny gropes Suzy. As Johnny pulls into the Hall parking lot he sees elder John & his wife, who’s supposed to take Suzy back home. Pioneer Johnny and elder John exchange a quick “how was service”, and then elder John & his wife start their drive to take Suzy home. Suzy, still stunned, is silent the whole way. After being dropped off, Suzy runs inside the house and tells her parents that Johnny abused her. Being good JW parents, their first call is to the elders.
Scenario 2.
Same exact circumstances as Scenario 1, with the same sequence of events, except the elders privately counsel Johnny not to be “touchy” and always hugging on the sisters,Suzy is 24 years old and Elder John & his wife just wave bye to Johnny as they pass by each other in their cars, with Johnny and Suzy pulling in and Elder John & his wife leaving. Johnny still gropes Suzy.
In both scenarios there is strong circumstantial evidence that Johnny groped Suzy.
The witnesses to the circumstantial evidence are the married couple and Elder John & his wife.
My point being, even though all the circumstances are the same, I think if Suzy was 24 years old, Johnny would find himself in a judicial committee as fast as a New York minute because of the strong circumstantial evidence, but if Suzy was an early teen the elders would tell poor little Suzy’s parents that they need two witnesses to the act of abuse before they can move forward.
How do you think it would be handled? Do elders take witnesses of strong circumstantial evidence as a warrant for a judicial committee for child abuse?

Today's Watchtower Study Article - 100% Double-Speak
by The Fall Guy in1) throughout the whole article jw's were being told not to believe or pass on everything they hear, but to examine the information to prove whether it was true or not.. 2) throughout the whole article jw's were being told not to listen to or look into any information or challenges which sounded negative about the org.. mind-numbed jw's will be leaving their kh's today wondering, "do i try and prove to myself and others that that what has been said is definitely a lie, (1 timothy 4:1; 1 peter 3:15;1 john 4:1) or do i totally ignore it and believe everything the org tells me is true?
" (proverbs 14:15).
cult-training in full flow..

But even with all the propaganda from the Watchtower lesson and the many JW's commenting on it, there are still some who say who will want to look. Curiosity will be begging and begging.
