Why is it that the great crowd get tested twice by Satan for an earthly reward while the anointed are tested once and rewarded with a 1st class ticket to heaven? -

Witnesses killed my friend today.
by WasOnceBlind intoday has been a horrible day.
what began as a day of joy finding out that one of my lifelong friends had her baby, turned into a nightmare when her brother called me to let me know she had passed away after birth.
i was in shock and didn't ask how.

I never understood the anti-charity stance. Even Jesus cured the sick & fed the hungry before delivering his sermons. He encouraged charitable works not just to your own spiritual bros & sis but also to be extended to the rest, yes even your 'enemy'- as taught by the parable of the good samaritan. -

Conversation with a Biblical scholar - Richard Dawkins
by CookieMonster inquite interesting when you look at the bible objectively and the historical records.
it highlights the problems of using the bible as authoritative and validation of history.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxcutg0lvr0.
spoiler: didn't know that the immanuel prophecy attributed to jesus as being born from a virgin is actually a mistranslation.

Evolution is a Fact #2 - DNA Functional Redundancy
by cofty inin the first thread in this series we looked at how the same protein molecule can be assembled by many different sequences of amino acids.. we took the example of cytochrome c and saw that there are many times more possible sequences than atoms in the known universe.
however the sequences in humans and chimps are identical, and as we look at species less closely related to us by evolution the more differences we find.
this is very compelling evidence for common ancestry.. in this post we are going to look more closely at the dna code behind those amino acid sequences.. the "language" of dna is made up of just 4 "letters" - a,c,g and t.. sequences of letters are read off in groups of 3 called codons.. acggcctcgaatgccttc would be read as acg gcc tcg aat gcc ttc.

Lets start a "Go Fund Me" for those special pioneers being kicked to the curb by the GB,.
by notjustyet inlots of great potential to help those sp that are being sent off without any financial help from the wtbts.
i think that it would be a great way to get some exposure on this topic and how the wtbts thats those that dedicated their lives to the wtbts only to be sent packing at a late age.
then someone can take the funds to one sp couple, possibly, and give it to them in honor of the apostates that know what is really happening.

I dont think any ex-bethelites would draw anything from this fund for fear of repercussions. But as a publicity stunt its an excellent idea. Once the fund has been accumulated, the cheque should be taken in person to WT. It will be refused of course, then it should be turned over to a homeless charity. All recorded and documented on Youtube, LOL -

Bethel layoff question
by CookieMonster inhi,.
with the layoffs of bethelites and special pioneers, does anyone know if they get some sort of "redundancy" payout?

When I was younger, think I was 22 or 23 I remember condescending voices from a pioneer and two elders using the word "its a shame" that I'm not in bethel service or some full time service. I felt so bad and "small" when other youths of my age went on stage to boast about bethel or regular pioneering. Glad I resisted the peer pressure. -

I looked up this "Vow of Poverty" and wow yes, the org definitely covering their bases. Its insane you have to abstain from secular work to supplement your income and have to turn over any proceeds from personal work? So effectively you are completely dependent on the org for food & shelter while they can boot you out at anytime they see fit with no chance of remuneration.
All this in the guise of "voluntary work" while in fact its an "exchange of services" which clearly is employment. I just hope those who are being sent home have at least learnt employable skills and get a good reference from WT.
