I would have to become a Proselite then I guess, but the duty to fulfill an impossible to follow law would be the most discouraging thing imaginable.

If the historical Jesus was simply human, would YOU be a Christian ?
by EdenOne ini've been reading a lot lately about the historical jesus, and the latest archaeological findings and what a comparative, horizontal, reading of the 4 canonic gospels actually do tell us about the historical jesus and his teachings.
pick your side, but let me ask you this, because that's the core question i have been asking myself lately:.
if the historical jesus wasn't the son of god, but simply a human prophet with no previous super-human existence, hence, merely the "son of man", with very appealing teachings, but no previous super-human existence, hence, not "son of god" as we commonly believe as jw's, would you still be a christian?

There are many forms of stealing. This deceit is one form of it. And they so love this teaching by the GB! NOT! My guess is some will stop donating or even hitting the zeal killswitch. I certainly would.
IMO soon there will be no more WT and/or Awake for the large public, maybe another scaling down to 8 pages will do it also.

If you Believe in the Lord's Supper
by designs inso this time of year we get all of the feedback about how the majority of jws (and we) didn't partake.. if you self identify as a christian what do you believe about the bread and wine.
are you catholic and believe in transubstantiation, or greek orthodox and believe in the mystery of the real eucharist, or protestant and believe only in the symbolism of the bread and wine.. do you serve grape juice and soda crackers (chruch of christ i attended), real wine, real matzah, wafer, other.. do you take communion daily, weekly, monthly, annually.. how important is communion to you..

I intend to go, to drink and to eat. Does anyone have the 2014 talk outline? It would be great to be prepared and point to the flaws beforehand.

Involved with a JW woman
by jonza inokay so i'm dating a born-in jw woman, she's younger than me and has no kids.
i'm a christian man whos divorced with 2 kids.
we're in love and seriously want to be together.

Hi Jonza,
As long as you are "in love" every compromise will work out smoothly, but wait for the stress and the habit of daily life to set in! Things tend to be more self-oriented after a few years. Often it turns out that things that looked so promising at the begining will change quit a bit. Finally the bridges that now cover the ditches can be teared down and it might be hard to build new ones.
It would be best for both of you to cool down and to see things rationaly.
I ll pray for the support and guidance from Father.
God bless you.

Its like with the rest of human society, there are good forces working upon every person and bad ones. Those who give in to the bad ones slowly desintegrate because the virtues and goldly qualities are slowly lost. That´s why there are sexual predators, within the (b)org, as well as outside off cause. The ugly part of the story is that the leadership is easily drawn away from humanistic, godly properties, as they are greedy in terms of power and money(material assets) and status.
Jesus was very mild when he dealt with individual sinners. To the contrary, he was very severe, even harsh with people in power who had the same problems as the GB today. So it looks like bad (satanic?) influences have taken over like in any other developed religious system on this planet.
To resume, I would not like to be in their place as their judgement will not be a walk through the park.
God bless.

This list will likely get longer. I myself had one supernatural experience too. At least one very clear one. This proves for those who experience it, that there is a world beyond our world and this opens the door wide open to the thought of an omnipotend God and many so called gods....

Why do so many think JW Religion is a Cult? (NO APOSTATES PLEASE)
by Brother Mike inmy question is, why do so many think the watchtower bible tract society is a cult?
.

What to ad to these very good comments. Thank you all for your input here. Very enlightening.
As most JW come from a different system of point of views, so all JW are apostates in the first place to their original beliefs.
Eisegesis vs exegesis is such a strong argument speaking for the cultishness of the WT-aka JW religion.
One example. Why would Jesus use the story of Abraham sitting at the table of the heavenly kingdom after being carried away by angels after he died if there were no such thing as an afterlife? Why would he strengthen a Satanic argument and lead people astray? JW explanation is based upon a predefined concept. They dont accept Jesus words per se and ad to the scriptures.
The field of arguments against cults (all religious orgs) is quasi infinite.
Anyone lacking wisdom and understanding should approach Jahweh in prayer and ask for it through Jesus the Christ and Messiah.

Survey: Who Here Believe In God/The Bible? Who Are Not Sure? Who Do Not Believe?
by minimus ini think there are many that still want to believe in a god but just aren't sure.. personally, do you believe in a god?.
are you a "spiritual" person?.

When I speak of those clinging to the other side, they often can tell about objects moving and other manifestations. I in no way wanted to say that the existence of such people proves anything. Had some friends at school who were in no way spiritual, but things got a bit confusing for them when they were playing around with these things. Glass moving "by itself" a.s.o.
I do not counsel anyone to go into this because it is absolutely dangerous. Read about people being harassed bigtime when they started to quit mixing with evil spirits. Terrifying things happen once you want to break away from the influence of the demons who possess you.
Now to the other side. I visited many christian denominations and could tell about real healings firsthand. (deaf boy hearing perfectly after the healing or one woman with a large tumor in her brain that disappeared between two med checks...)
My miracle happened after I was searching God for about 20y plus. Mainly by trying to live by his principles, which I never was able to because my nature would not permit.
Then one evening while going to bed and trying to pray which once again did not work properly because many porn-pics took over in my head. Then something came over me that cleansed these ever persisting thoughts and pics and I was finaly free. After that I began to understand what I was reading in the bible. Things I read 20 times before suddenly got clear to me and I saw that all religion carries lies and deception as its mainly taken over by power hungry men who set up their own system of doctrines to build a fence around their property (disciples). This is also very true for the WT corp.
From that special evening on I was able to live a new and better life.
My experience can hardly be of any help for anyone else, but what could, would be to search for God and have patience. At his time God will reveal himself to you. Never give up!

Consider the reality of evil in many parts of politics, entertainment ... Devil worshippers and mediums give the proof of the existence of a supernatural world. Even if the faith based person might not have things moving around or other very tangible phenomenons, the fact that the anointing gives power to overcome the flesh is a great mystery both to those who live it and those who see it too. I am pro-God with every fibre of myself. Its mainly religions fault that people turn away from the idea that there is a good and loving God above us. I can assure you, there is! But in no way he imposes himself on us. Its a free choice to reach out for him.

Are we rebelling like Korah, against God's appointed GB? A super simple question to backfire that accusation
by EndofMysteries inthe next time or if that ever gets brought up, that leaving the organization is following the rebelliousness of korah, since the wt likes to have that in one of the magazines every 2 to 3 months, ask this...... okay, i understand the concern on leaving god's appointed and rebelling against them.
let me ask this, was moses inspired?
was the apostle paul inspired?

Yahweh was not dictating every single word to Moses. He was anointed and therefore got a better disposition to do the right things and to make sound judgments. (Without knocking out his own will off course as his water out of rock mistake shows).
Jesus was sticking closely to his father because his mission was of such great importance. He was anointed too.
This anointing with holy spirit also opens the way to perform the works of the spirit to Christians. You become a new creation thereby. (again without knocking out your free will, but rather giving you the freedom to chose the right actions rather than the wrong ones. Those in the flesh mainly dont have this free choice, as they cant overcome the fleshly adamic spirit inherent to depraved mankind)
Sticking with anointed sisters and brothers of Christ is the right thing to do, while being on the way of becoming adopted by father into this new life. At no point there is coercion. Its just gaining the ability to perform the things prepared for the holy ones.
Whoever bears the fruit is connected to Jesus. Some JW are children of God, as well as some in other denominations. I have seen some here and some there.
I personally would switch to the argument that the different kind of Good News preached by the WT (Gal 1) puts them outside of the true flock of Jesus Christ. Matth 23 seems applicable. Being false prophets also invalidates their claim of authority. There is lots more.
God bless
