Just got off the elevator with Anthony Morris

at the international convention here i just got off the elevator with anthony morris.

he was heading to the basement and i was heading up to administration.

i rode one floor down with him before i went up to my destination.

JW.org shows that the society doesn't really want to talk to people who aren't witnesses

i find it fascinating to see how quickly the society has about faced on the use of the internet.

interestingly they still have not adopted two way communication channels such as facebook, twitter, instagram.

etc.. if you are lurking....why do you think that is?

I find it fascinating to see how quickly the society has about faced on the use of the internet. Interestingly they still have not adopted two way communication channels such as facebook, twitter, instagram. etc.

If you are lurking....Why do you think that is? Virtually ALL major companies have a facebook page, sponsor ads and content on instagram and twitter and generally use every channel they can to reach their targeted audience. In this case the society's target audience is simply its own members. Sure they give lip service to reaching the world, but if they really were sincere they would use two way channels of communication. Ask yourself. why don't they want to hear from their target "market"?

Search for bible study on google, and see how many pages it takes before JW.org shows up. It was 3 pages back for me. If they were really effective at being a resource for bible study and offering bible studies, why do they show up behind so many other organizations? Seems to me like they are getting their ass kicked by bible gateway, bible.org, lifeway.com, etc.

I find it an interesting experiment to watch. To me it looks like a 70 year old hermit who used a typewriter his whole life, trying to convince himself that he is incredibly progressive and on the forefront of technology because he bought a emachines desktop with a celeron processor and windows xp.

JW.ORG Business Cards?

did anybody else get an announcement at their meeting about the branch approved jw.org business cards?.

apparantly, they're real slick and fit into your wallet (making it easier to informal witness).

the logic was, some people don't want to be handed a big tract and would prefer something smaller.. so strange considering how little there is to those tracts!

About one year on

it's about a year since i started visiting this website.

it all started with the july 15 wt last year and all the changes.

lazy me had not read it online so when one bro said to me at the hall, 'have you read all the new stuff in that issue' i didn't know what he was talking about.

Just a piece of unsolicited advice..

I was in your shoes exactly a couple of years ago. Was the wt conductor and started to become physically ill before the meetings. I would conduct the study, and then come home and drink 6 beers watching football in silence. Every study that got crazier, I got crazier. There was one time that I contemplated suicide. As witnesses we are taught to stand up for what we believe in. As a wt conductor who not only knew the ttatt I couldnt not only not stand up for what I knew was true or false, I had to teach people falsehood.

our minds are not made to deal with that internal conflict. I almost cracked until I realized I could stand up for what I believed in personally and resigned as an elder. I am happier than ever.

in the last 6 months my family and i have stopped attending cold turkey.

it is incredible to me to see how our so called friends have dropped us like we were a snake covered in spiders.

we actually havent really said anything to anybody about why we stopped.

@ crazyguy yes you are right, I am incredibly happy my family came with me. It took about three- four years to pull it off. I went from an Elder in 2011 to being inactive in 2013 and finally out in 2014. I am so glad I am not stuck in a movement anymore. Being trapped is the worst feeling. It is a rare occurence when a family gets out together.

In the last 6 months my family and I have stopped attending cold turkey. It is incredible to me to see how our so called friends have dropped us like we were a snake covered in spiders. We actually haven’t really said anything to anybody about why we stopped. To them I am simply a “bad” person and myself and my family has been shunned because we:

Don’t go to the kingdom hall 2 times per week to sit through monotonous talks and sing monotone songs
Refuse to accept that 7 men in Brooklyn are truly the mouthpiece of God, based on 100 years of failed prophecies
Have seen pedophiles protected above children
Refuse to teach others something we don’t believe

Despite being dropped by everyone we know for listening to our consciences….as a family we still:

Don’t celebrate holidays
Don’t steal, lie, or curse
Don’t watch R rated movies
Pray as a family daily
Read the bible
Try to help others in any way we can
Work hard secularly
Laugh and play together
Volunteer in the community in various areas

Unfortunately we are judged to be wicked and according to everyone we love, we will die a violent, horrible death at Armageddon.

My kids had some really good friends that aren’t allowed to come over to our house because we “don’t love Jehovah anymore”. Try to explain that to a kid under 6 years old. This organization is nothing but toxic. They will go to the ends of the earth to shun you. (John 13:35)

We aren’t any different than we have always been except for we have taken a stand for what we believe in, we are more tolerant of other people, and we don’t believe that God is going to destroy everyone who is not a Jehovah’s Witness.

We are truly an evil aposta-family.

i have been an elder for 6 years.

it's been the last 2 years or so that i've really seen the hypocrisy, but the ability to know the shenanigans of the society through the body of elders letters has kind of kept me in there.

i'm to the point now that i can't stand the hatred and bitterness that the body of elders has towards myself and my whole family.
