i'm hoping those of you in the jwn community may be able to help me out.
an acquaintance (of legal drinking age) may soon be sitting for jc under the charge of "drunkenness".. to those of you who have direct experience either serving on a jc, or being the subject of a jc related to the misuse of alcohol:.
- could you provide a list of questions that were asked of the accused?.
What PROOF is there that he over indulged .
did someone count the drinks he consumed
is their a blood alcohol level evidence
There is no criteria for "drunkiness " in the bible or Elders book
Only his confession of over drinking would be proof .
Is their video evidence of proven behavior from drinking "to much alcohol"
Is there any other pluasible reason for "drunken" behavior other than over indulgence

i had a business meeting this evening, hubby elected to stay home with the kiddies (he could have come with me), as he said "you need a break, have some time alone'...so considerate...so i thought.
upon returning home, he had popped one of the new dvd's released at the convention, don't know the title, of some young brother who gets fired from a job and goes for a drink with a buddy from work.
it is very annoying that he pulls these little tricks on me, act like he is doing me some favor or being considerate then pulling one of these jwisms...like the time he booked an appointment with a physchiatrist, and he wanted me to go along to discuss his insecurities in our marriage because i had learned ttatt...he conveniently left out the part where the doctor is a jw.
Did your kids hear the hate speech at the convention ?

In the past JW leadership could shut critics up somewhat. Not anymore . The net allows us all to have a loud voice .

this is my first post after deciding to finally open an account here after months of 'lurking'.. a couple of issues i want to address-.
i have issues with people who go from being a witness to losing all faith in god or the bible which seems to be the case with some members of this site.
i just don't think you can let any religion change how you view god or the bible.. second-i don't feel the gb are bad people, i think most witnesses including them are misguided by something that has been drilled into their heads since they were little and are actually sincere people.
What happens to JWs that learn "The truth about the truth" TTATT is they learn to use
critical thinking skills. Looking for actual proof backing up claims.
Then they use these thinking skills and apply them to religion in general .
This leads many to agnostisism or atheism . Because proof is pretty slim .
...i might drop in every now and then but i hope you all enjoy life, escape the watchtower(r) and live prosperous lives.. i can't say i contribute much here anyway (and i'm not attention seeking).. i'm just going to get on with life away from the constant reminder of the mistakes i made being a jw zombie drone.. i guess i'm just going to fade.......rather quickly.. of course i didn't need to make any posts here to disappear but i thought it'd be polite and very british to bid you all a fond farewell.. see you all sometime.....maybe.....maybe not.....maybe....... bye!.
