  i think there are many that stay in the religion simply because of family/friends considerations.

  jws complain that the nations refused to submit to god's kingdom in 1914. what if they had done this?.

  the kings of the earth take their stand and high officials gather together as one against jehovah and against his anointed one.

  You know 1914 was a calculation Russell did based off the pyramids of Egyot, right? First page of "Studies of the Scriptures". That is the foundation of the Jehovah Witness ideology. That's it. There is no other spiritual reason associated with that date.

  And like the pyramids of Egyot, if the foundation is made of mud, the entire structure crumbles. So they can heap as much crap as the want on it... it's still mud. Everything else about the religion from that point is pretty pointless to dissect. It's like popping a ballon, then trying to analyze the air inside it.

  i'm fed up of my still-in wife using this excuse that they can utter wrong beliefs and doctrines.. .

  the fact that there are imperfect humans involved in the organisation is very much irrelevant.. .

  we all accept, including jdubs, that these men are just men who may think and say wrong things like the rest of us as they go about their own lives.

  By the definition of "imperfect" it is known they will be wrong some percentage of the time. So, if they are admittedly wrong some of the time, then they have no business harboring the spirituality of millions of people BY FORCE or else banishing them with shunning and public ostracism.

  I'm imperfect. I'm wrong some percentage of the time. But, I feel I have a better percentage rate of a positive outcome if my chances on my own, thanks.

  @nonjwspouse I sincerely thank you for that. And I have to say I COMPLETELY believe in a person's right to express their opinion AND belief. We all have that right. Let's face it... if someone askes about morality and you go to the topic of gay sex, that says WAY more about you than it does the gays.

  It's helpful if people (especially people in the public eye) wouldn't take something as loving as us trying to make an honest living, help out the community where we live, and raise a family and assume we're going to f**k your pets and molest your children. That is outside the boundaries of reality... and outside the boundaries of simple "opinion."

  "I love all the people, as they are all people to love."

  I like this a lot! Thank you, again.

  @snare&racket They haven't been all THAT hush. From the individual Witnesses like my family and childhood friends (for example) there is the subtle innocently phrased questions of condescension and disbelief mixed with a quiet judgement in the eyes as I try to explain my rights to a wall of silent scriptures cast in pre-fabricated foundations and pleasantries.

  I find this indirect homophobia truly mean and inhumane because of the perpetual disbelief of my unchangeable DNA.

  The difference between religion and cult is in the ease of one's ability to leave.

  I adore Cedars. I commend him for being able to absorb JW information without getting violently ill (a feat that is beyond me). He responds very VERY well of the absurdity of the original video (which I had not watched until now). Great job, sir.

  Oddly enough, I'm not the worst double life I heard of (www.backseastdevil.com).

  While before I got to Bethel there was a guy in Brooklyn who was apparently running a rather successful escorting business. So successful he was getting some high-end clients who would send limos to retreive him and drop him off. This was apparently how he got caught.

  jesus looks like an american folk singer, the governing body look like a corrupt version of an enron luncheon.. the jw's literally print different magazines for africa with african pictures, black people instead of white, to make it 'more appealing' to them.... just to be clear that means they think the opposite is true too!.

  ....and then there is the lack of black angels..... .
