i want to thank all those that helped and encouraged me in my hard times!..hubby passed away from his cancer this morning.
i am so sad my heart is broken.
we decided to go ahead and have a memorial for him this weekend at the kingdom hall he went to.

My heart is aching for you. How can those of us who have not experienced your pain ever understand .
I am torn between wanting to die first so that I don't have the agony of your situation, and the wish to be able to be there for my beloved and look after him to the end (he is over 70, but not sick).
Your husband was certainly blessed to have your love and caring for all your marriage and particularly at the end.

I believe you are still attending some meetings. How do you do it?. I am still going occasionally. Family stuff you know. I just wonder what others do to survive.You are very bright. Do you have some special survival tactics? If yes please tell.

I would have thought that many of the GB members would have been asked about all those things mentioned. Most witnesses have problems with some or all of the things he spkoe of. I think it depends a little on the attitude taken in questioning whom ever it was.

if the bible sez that shunning applies to "anyone called a brother" who engages in serious sin,.
then logically, if a person made clear to everyone - congregation, neighbors and community - that he is.
not one of jw's, no shunning would apply - over and above any 'worldly person'.. likewise, it would not apply to any df'd person either - if they made clear they are no longer a jw in any way.. of course, such logic cannot be grasped by the watchtower - who would voluntarily submit to their dominance.

note that loyalty that "transcends every human relationship" is not to god, but to the 'organisation'.

they teach there are only two classes, the 144,000 who are going to heaven and the great crowd who will live on earth.

We were most relieved and reassured to note we could get at least temporary support from our Lord through his angels and the Holy Spirit if we were "temporarily isolated from the Governing Body".
What we noticed was that they have their piorities sorted out.
1. Governing Body, Holy Spirit and angles in that order.
2. Governing Body in capitals and Holy Spirit in lower case.
