Would you contribute to expose the Watchtower?
by nicolaou injost tossing an idea about.
would anyone be willing to make regular contributions to an 'exposure fund'?.
it wouldn't be a 'fighting fund', we couldn't hope to compete against watchtower finances or its legal department in that way.

Hi Neil and welcome,
I venture to say that your healing won't be complete till you have read "Crisis of Conscience"
It will produce the final carthasis you need.
That did it for most of us here.
Crisis of Conscience (Fourth edition, Revised and Updated - May, 2002)
by Raymond Franz (with topical and Scriptural indexes),
420 pages, hardbound $19.95; paperback $15.95.
(U.S. Postage: $1.85, Foreign postage: $6.00)A former member of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses gives a unique insight into the authority structure of that religion. The book allows the reader a view of the decision-making sessions of a religion's inner council, and the powerful, sometimes dramatic, impact their decisions have on people's lives. Although initially written in 1983, the book reveals a distinctive and basic pattern, a pattern which, as the updated information in the third edition shows, continues essentially unchanged. Rather than reducing the book's relevancy, the passage of time serves to manifest the validity of the evidence offered and the currency of the issues and principles involved.
Then when you have read that, you might like to read his second book.
In Search of Christian Freedom
by Raymond Franz, 736 pages, hardbound $21.95; paperback $17.95.
(U.S. Postage: $2.35, Foreign postage: $6.00)Freedom is crucial to genuine Christianity. How erosion of Christian freedom began in the early centuries, how it can and does occur today, and the means for resisting the invasion of personal conscience and thought; a sequel to Crisis of Conscience. Discusses teachings of organizational loyalty, door-to-door activity, disfellowshipping, blood, and many others.

Does anyone feel that their abilty 2 make money has been influenced by WT?
by theotherside inwe were told so many times that we were slaves 2 not only god but anyone in a secular position of authority.
so i feel that this only encouraged a subordinate and non confortational attitude with our employers.
almost 2 the point that that even those of us who are self employed never get 2 develope the killer instinct that is needed 2 compete in the business world.

Was a Witness. Didn't have a "killer instinct". I had a very successful business.

How Many Of You "Bumped" Your Field Service Hours?
by EvilForce inhow many of you bumped up your field service hours so you could keep the elders off your back?
our congo had a 10 hour "soft" target for guys.
however, if you didn't meet the 10 hours you got your "privledges" reduced or revoked.

I didn't believe "counting time" was scriptural. So for twenty years before I left, I used to go out, but never put in a report.
The P O spoke to my husband about it. My husband said "What she does is between her and Jehovah".
They never even spoke to me about it. [Gutless wonders]

I also do not believe in the trinity and think the article at this link is one of the best treatments of the trinity I have seen. What do you think?
