I am close to someone who worked in the same office as TJ for several years.
I've yet to hear him say anything positive about the man.

i'm reading crisis of conscience right now and even raymond franz mentioned in his book that ted jaracz didnt vote during governing body sessions based off of 'a gut feeling' like dan sydlik and lyman swingle did, but voted based off of having 'a mean spirit (dont quote me on that) but bascially got an overall vibe that ted jaracz was not a very nice man.
and whats this about the child abuse policy that he enforced?
what did he do that made every ex-jw's in america hate him?

Is it just me, or were threads really more substantial a few years back?
Spot on cantleave, and of all the substantial posters Mac was at the top of the list.
His research is second to none. Shame he has never been properly appreciated.
Reading his old posts is an exercise in joyous learning.
PS. Don't know how I missed this one first time around.
Bangalore thanks for bringing it back.
a little over two years ago-june 2008- i began a journey of epic proportions.
i didn't know at that time that my life would forever change.
i came across this website while looking up jehovah's witnesses and 1975. at first, i was very nervous.
WOW
You've done very, very well in just two years.

i fail to see why people such as alice in wonderland, bane and others, are regularly singled out as tolls.
demands are repeatedly made that they are shunned and thrown off the forum; while people like perry, who rant on with pages of controversial drivel, are considered acceptable?.
i personaly don't view any of them as trolls, just people who feel a need to stand up for what they believe.
I don't have any trouble admitting I'm wrong.
I freely admit I was wrong once last year............................or was it the year before?

is there any jehovah's witness who can answer these questions about 1914?.
can you demonstrate, using the holy scriptures, that the messianic kingdom was established in 1914, that jesus got the full legal right to become king that year, and that jesus returned invisibly in 1914, and that the "last days" began that year?.
1:) no encyclopedia, no history book, and no archaeology book that i have ever seen have ever said that nebuchadnezzar destroyed jerusalem and the temple in the year 607 bce.
Bane said:
So you are going to hold the organization for something they did 30 years ago? Oh yeah that´s right. You DO do that. Most of you are still holding onto the 1975 thing which happened 35 years ago...
A question to you Bane:
If a teaching 30 years old should not be held against a religion, why does the Watchtower continually bring up the Catholic Church's sins of 300 years ago?
Cant have it both ways Bane.
do you still refer to them as "us" or "them"?.
to me they are definitely "them"..
I say "the brotherhood".
Moshe,
How is your pharisee training going?
I notice you didn't answer that question.
But come to think of it you probably don't need any training. You are natural born.
yesidid- 7 years here on JWN and I think you are still an official JW- and you are giving me advice?
You're wrong again! Or is that still! I haven't been to a meeting in eight years. I just respect the right of others to make those decisions for themselves.
i was speaking with an older sister who is quite zealous and she is typical of many who are concerned that men are not reaching out.
she notes that young men in particular have no interest in doing anything, congregation-wise.. the change in this area is quite dramatic, if you can remember that once, being an elder was an aspiration of nearly every brother - and we had plenty of young men to run the mics and hand out magazines.
i once pointed out to a c.o.
What holds these leaders accountable???
Nothing and no one, therein lies the root of the problem
i don't post here much, so hopefully i put this in the right section.
if not, let me know.. i've emailed my aunt about the new generation change, just to see her reaction to it and what her mindset is.
i tried to keep it simple and not attack her personally as she has a heart of gold and has been a jw 40+ years.
I am very, very much with the "leave her be" group.
If she has not seen the obvious faults in the WT reasonings from what you have already said, she doesn't want to.
And the reason has to be emotional, certainly not logical.
So if she needs them for an emotional crutch and she is an older person, don't kick her crutch from under her.
Just jove her and be there for her if she needs you.

now up on jw.org.. it would seem that the days of "local needs" berating the flock may be coming to an end - one article instructs that elders should ensure that meetings are "encouraging" and that where counsel is needed for just a few people then it should be given privately rather than from the platform..
This would have been all wrapped up before Ted died, it is a very long lead time.
Of course he could have been so ill he didn't know what was going on.
