Will the Internet bring down the watchtower Bible and Tract Society
by frankiespeakin inin the united states i keep hearing about how nobody sees the witness is going door-to-door and more, or at least not as often as they used to.
i also heard a report from england recently which stated to the same effect.. what do you think?
do you think the internet is the watchtower society's worst nightmare?.

I just want massive change --apologies for all the needlessly lost lives -- e.g. the blood issue. I also want them to allow Christian Freedom -- freedom of choice etc on waht we can read or watch or talk to without fear of being disfellowshipped-- and disfellowshipping to be completely adjusted -- d/fing should be an absolute last resort for somebody who continues to go in a course contrary to what the scriptures say -- and finally for all CO/DO/Elders/ Branch Committee to get off their power trip.
Yes, stillajwexelder that would be nice. As soon as I see the pigs climbing our trees I will check the watchtower and see if the changes are being made.

Raised a JW... did you have a childhood?
by ignorance is strength inpersonally i was quite serious at a young age.. there was no "boys will be boys" growing up.
personally i feel kind of cheated out of a childhood by an organization that forced you to think that "everything around you was going to be gone soon so you better grow up, start publishing, and giving talks.
" did any of you experience a less than stellar childhood, especially because of the lack of holidays and socially-isolating religion gowing up?

I am sorry Lady Lee, had not read your story before or I would not have spoken as I did.
I am very sorry. It is obvious that much of your agony was at the hands of witnesses and I
was wrong in my assumption.

Some of can't remember anything good because we were just trying to survive
I grew up in a home where we were screamed at daily, beaten daily, sexually abused, neglected, ignored, locked in rooms or closets and that is the mild stuff. Going to bed was a prayer to die and not wake up to another day of hell. Waking up was with the surety of another nightmare to live through.
We got kittens once - that felt good until my father forced us to watch while he drowned them and then told us if we weren't good he would do the same to us.
I got a new dress once - and had to pay for it with sexual favors - at 10 years old
Some of lived a nightmare Finding good things comes now as we create them in the present.
Lady Lee,
You obviously had a terrible childhood. I am so sorry.
My problem is that from what you said, your father never was a witness and you were only with your witness mother for one year.
To be absolutely fair do you think your reply could have been a little misleading.
You posted your awful experience under the thread.
Raised a JW... did you have a childhood?
It appears that although your experiences were heart wrenching they had nothing to do with Jehovah’s witnesses.
Correct me if I am wrong.
What I just said neither negates the truth of your dreadful childhood or suggests that many witness children did not also have an abominable childhood.
I just feel we should be fair. There are many things about that organization, we can without any exaggeration, condemn as wrong. I think we should stay on that firm, fair position.

Having It Both Ways?--A Defining Characteristic
by blondie ini was reading on another website and found this post.
the poster said i could post it here.
it shows why it is hard to reason with anyone in the organization.. when individuals leave the organization for conscience reasons, it is evidence that god is shepherding and protecting the flock by doing a sifting work.

Once again:
Thank you; you are such an asset to this board, Blondie.
The last example you gave was brilliant! Talk about speaking in stereo. They came from the same building in the same month. Difference was, first one came from the writing dept and the second the from service dept. And we all know who looks after the service dept.

JWs are not brain damaged, but heart damaged!
by Joyzabel inive been trying to tell my kids to be patient with the jws that they knew and with family that still are jws.
especially when the shunning is in full force.
i was excusing it as brain damaged because we couldnt reason with them or get through the mental block they have.

It was not a special talk so it is different in every congregation the world over.
The w/tower is the same, not the talks.
