I guess most felt the same way. Why should the WTS get money twice or three times if you count congregation donations?
What always kept me fuming was the insistence the WTS had that we MUST bring the donations given at the door to the donation box.
I have.
some time ago i read on this forum a post regarding someone who wanted to include in his resume the training as a public speaker he'd received as a witness.
some people answered it wasn't wise to do so.
i thought the opposite.

Check how he includes all the speeches he ever gave in public as part of his experience.
He used to be a bethelite. I don't know why he left Brooklyn. But I heard through the vine that he had left the witnesses for a while.

What do you think?

what will be the "end afterward"?.
young people are often exposed to temptations and pressures to experiment with things that seem popular.
Funny how when this sister who is now a high school principal was in college, a bunch of brothers would make comments against college education in the WT study. This sister would cry a lot because of the way she was put down constanly. I'm glad she stood up for herself, and , she HAD her parents support at that.
Now that she's a principal, I imagine she has to have higher education guidance for her students. How does this fit today with what the WTS is teaching? I don't see how can her husband the elder say that his family is following the WTS counsel? Are they hypocrites?

And by the way, this sister's husband and father are both elders.

What will be the "End Afterward"?
Young people are often exposed to temptations and pressures to experiment with things that seem popular. Here are some likely scenarios.
If you are ever confronted with any of such situations, what will you do? Will you simply give in, or will you carefully consider what the "end afterward" could be? You would be wise to ask yourself: "Can a man rake together fire into his bosom and yet his very garments not be burned? Or can a man walk upon the coals and his feet themselves not be scorched?" - Prov 6:27,28
I know a sister who is a high school principal. I don't know how could she be a principal. Does she tell "worldly" kids that college is no good? What if she also has JWS kids in her school? Does she encourage college edu to worldly kids, but not to JWS kids? Wouldn't that confuse them?
i won't go into the article as a whole because it's discussed in another topic here.
but i truly despise the way that the watchtower tries to guilt or frighten people into going out in field service.
not only will jehovah kill that person (unfairly) if you don't preach to them, but he'll kill you too!.
Actually, the WTS is the one who should feel very guilty. THEY could do a lot more in the preaching work by using other methods of communications, radio, tv, etc. And furthermore, they aren't even sending brothers to the Middle East, China, or any other place where there are hardly any Christians. Shame, shame, shame.
If you really think about it, weren't the disciples of Jesus the ones anointed with Holy spirit? Weren't they the ones who took the initiative in spreading the good news, even when they knew they would face death. Well, aren't the FDS the anointed ones today? What the hell is THEIR job?
