The best thing I ever did was after I got df'd, I joined the local Methodist church and got the Pastor to notify my parents. In their eyes now not only was df'd, but now I was an apostate. It meant that they stopped the incesant sending of wt and awakes and books and memeorial invites, and the phone calls stopped all together etc etc...good riddance. Now that was a relief.

Another family memeber and I were discussing these issues. She was df'd a while back and I very recently. It is becasue of what I have ssen in here that could move on and know that I had left a corrupt and hypocritical organisation. She however still hankers that she cant move on becasue she does not have the "truth" She just read this as I emailed it to her and it has blown her mind so THANK YOU....

My JW Folks
by CraigSA inso now they have branded me an apostate and not fit to talk to, they have never met their 1 and 2 year old grandchildren and are smeering my name all over the place because i wont send thm pictures and let my wife email them with information on whats going on in my family...my outlook is simple...either they except my whole family including me or they can put the fact that they have a son and daughter-in-law and two grandchildren out of their minds...but now i am starting to doubt that...whats everyones thoughts?

Well happysunshine...here are the details:
I was a ministerial servant and married at 21 a good little pioneer girl from our cong...You know the little jw house on the prairie story. Well i wanted out of everything before i was 23...so i packed my things, got divorced, never met with the elders, in fact never called to a meeting but was disfellowshipped none the less.
My mom and sister kept a trickle of contact through the next year or so...but then I decided to try to create something in my new family (i got married againa and had 2 kids) that my old never had in it - love and unity. So we started by going to a local little church and finding new friends and basically my new wife and I staretd rebuilding my and our life. It was tough for my new in laws and wife to understand that my family did not want anything to do with me as they were not exposed in any way to the dubs and they are very close.
Anyway when my folks and sister and brother heard i was going to another church, that was that, the branded me an apostate so another announcement was made in three different congregations, they put the phone down in my face etc etc. BUT they still try and contact my wife to get photo's etc etc of my kids and keep the communications up with her...So i said NO as if they dont accept my whole family they dont accept it at all.
This is after I whilst being DF'd was asked by my mom brother and sister for financial help, which i dished out and then some etc etc...It hurts not having a family as fundamentally it take away your history all together. But now I have to make a decision about my son and daughter..do i treat my folks and virtually cut them off from my kids like they cut me off - or do i show that since leaving the dubs I have become a better person than they will ever be and let my kids be exposed to their crap...It was easy when they were small infants, but now my son knows his other gran dad and wants to know about my daddy.

by nelly1 inone of the witness sisters who sometimes comes to see me came today.
i remeber telling u all a while ago that abt a month ago an elder and an ms came to my house to do the where are you visit.. well i of course told them i didnt want to discuss it and said a prompt goodbye... well isnt it interesting that it doesnt take long for the so called discreet confidentiality to be broken huh?.
i hear today that a sister told this other sister that an elder came to see me and i told him to get lost..... seems they gossip more than i thought now i was majorly pisssssssssssed off about that.. they r such freakin hypocrites!!!!

There were thoughts on how i would get back etc etc,...then I found this site and comments like yours showed me that I was the better for not being there...They were the ass holes and not me. Now I am happy...so thanks....

Watching the World......Six got shocked
by SixofNine inwe have so much negative to say about the wt, that sometimes we forget to look for negative things to say about the world.
well sometimes it just reaches out and slaps you.. today a man made an offhand comment to me that has me fantisizing about murder.. i've been working on the exterior of a house for the past couple of days, and the woman next door, who comes out to her car every now and then for a ciggy, is, well, slammin.

WOW - thanks so much to everyone for all the supportive comments etc. Well mine is a long story. I was Df'd last year already, but because my mom and sister still kept in contact, my hypocritical brother and father (two of the biggest sinners around) are still all haughty and full of crap, i did not feel the df all that much. That was until I got married again and started going to the local methodist church with my wife. I finally found religious people who were real and not fake and hypocritical. Now I joined the church I am now an apostate and my family now just put the phone down on my ear when I call.
My dad was df'd for about 6 months when he was found shagging his secretary, he was the freekin presiding overseer and they let him back and now he is an elder again.
I simply want out so i divorce the JW wife I had and move to Johannesburg. They DF me without even meeting with me so even though I went through judicial hearings before, i did not go through this one, they df'd me without even meeting with me.
Now i have started with the methodists they make another announcement in my old confregation, the new one i had just moved to, my parents congregation, my sisters congregation and my brothers congreation that i am now apostate.
But I have never been closer to the lord - ever. Now I am but then....well you guys now how empty the truth really is....
Anyway enough about me tell me more about your stories.
