with the new forum software on the way, have you considered adding daily/weekly/monthly surveys to the forum for us to vote on?.

Things like that.

It is always interesting to see the % results on surveys. To get a better idea what people that visit the forum think.

JW's a FRUSTRATED people?

we know that the wt portrays the jw's as a "happy" people.

the wt would have the world believe that the wt organization as a whole is a "happy" organization.

yet somehow they still believe that jw's are a "happy" people.

But does the "general public" claim in print and in doctrine to be the "happiest people"? The WT does.

Do those with a college education and nice paying job, as a whole, claim in print and doctrine, to be the "happiest people"? The WT does.

The WT claims that JWs, as a whole, are the "happiest people" on earth.

I HAD A SERIOUSE DREAM (VISION) YESTERDAY

i had a dram.

some of you may life but being a newby ifelt i needed to experience this with you all,what do you think of it please read this ,from a lowly man.. the dream started where i was on the top floor of an old building,which had unstable floors there was no way down & no stairsas i looked out of the window i was enclosed by wire fencing with no way out there was a hole in the floor where there should have been stairs,i started to panick ,suddenly on the floor below a young woman came into view i asked her to help me get down,she didnot seem to want to help at first,but then placed an old type of unsteady ladder up in the stairwell so that i could climb down,i felt it wasnot safe to traverse down therfore i asked her a question as to tryinf another way down ,eventualy i climbed down the ladder, iwas still traped inside a perimitor chainlink fence,i then made my way out of the building through a window directly onto this old fence which was swaying & buckling beneath my weight, i ended up inside another compound at a higher level as i was about to touch the outer perimeter fencing i noticed that i was surrounded by a group of wolves which came running towards me,oww nooooi cried, all but one of the wolves then but dissapeared into tunnels alone wolfcame right up into myface & started groeling of sorts i then said something to the wolf ,then the wolfstarted singing,to me in a very happy voice (duet) this lasted a few minutes iwas then trying to climb over the enclosure fencing with the wolf trying to follow me,i was pushing the wo;f back but it still wanted to follow,.

the next thing i recall .

The WOLF obviously represents APOSTATES (without their "sheeps covering")... because first you thought it was mean, until you talked to it and then all of the sudden, it was not so bad after all, it was nice and starting singing ("apostate propaganda" probably) to you.

The DOBERMAN DOGS obviously represent the ELDERS... because they were intimidating and scaring you.

And the DRIVER OF THE CAR obviously represents the WT ORGANIZATION... because they would not do a damn thing to help protect you from the vicious Doberman dogs. And, because, as a driver of a car, they are in control of everything...

And the ILLNESS OF THE YOU, FAMILY & FRIENDS obviously represents the sickening hardship the whole ELDER/WT situation has placed on you, the family and friends.

Silent Lambs/Bill Bowen..Who rejoices now?

having read the exchanges between rev, bill bowen, and others involved in the silent lambs website, i honestly feel sickened.

i remember when i first started to hear rumblings that "something big" was going down regarding the society's handling of child abuse.

i was overjoyed because i had first-hand knowledge of several atrocities in this regard and was hoping against all odds that a major upset would force them to change their policies.

The VAST MAJORITY of JWs have NO IDEA what is currently going on with Bill Bowen and the others. And many JWs probably do not care. They have likely disregarded all of it as apostate propaganda anyway.

If the JWs did know what was going on right now with Bill Bowen and the others, shouldn't all those JWs by immediately Reproved or DFd for dabbling with information from those who 'oppose God's earthly organization'?

question about "talking" to JW concer...

i've been dating a jw for almost 3 1/2 years - about a month ago i found out that 3 elders from my boyfriend's kingdom hall we're going to have a meeting with my boyfriend about dating me.

when i asked why this meeting was going to take place, my boyfriend said that it was because he was dating someone who isn't a jehovah's witness.

this really hurt me, and it hurt even more when i found out that they had already talked to him once before, and he did not tell me about it.

As Utopian_Raindrops said, marrying or even dating an "unbeliever" is not something a JW can be excommunicated for. An "unbeliever" being someone who is not a baptized JW or not preaching door to door with them.

If a baptized JW does date or marry an "unbeliever" they will be given trouble by the Elders and even other JWs. There may be a discourse given from the stage to the congregation reminding everyone there that dating and marrying an "unbeliever" is bad. They will read the scripture in the Bible at 1 Corinthians 7:39 that says a person is free to marry whoever they want, but " only in the Lord." Which JWs interpret to mean ONLY another JW. And they will read the scripture at 2 Corinthians 6:14,15 that says, " Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness? Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Be'lial? Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever?"

If the Elder give that discourse it will let everyone know that someone in their congregation is dating or going to marry an "unbeliever", basically humiliating the JW who is dating or going to marry an "unbeliever".

The Elders will probably want to know if your boyfriend and you have been sexual with each other in ANY way, shape or form. And that would be something that your boyfriend could be excommunicated for.

If your boyfriend wants things to get better, he will either have to stop dating you, which I don't think he will. OR you will have to start studying the Bible with the JWs and work toward becoming a JW. Then the JWs will have to begin to, more or less, accept you, because you might just join them and they would not want to offend someone who is interested in their religion.

But, you and your boyfriend could just GET MARRIED. And in time the JWs will probably back off your boyfriend. They may even get used to your marriage and start to do things with you and him hoping that you will eventually become a JW so that you and him will be two happy little JWs together.

Or, at least, call the JWs or drive to where they have their meetings and personally ask the Elders there why the heck they don't want your boyfriend to date or marry you. LOL

Let us know what happens.

A Physicist's view of the WT future

just a little experience i had this week.

we recently found a local learning center comprised of amateur scientist and professionals who meet regular to share new ideas and to conduct classes and group discussions.

yesterday i spoke with the president of the learning center who is 75 years old retired physicist.
