Assembly Dramas:They were so bad.... but.... you waited for them to break away from the monotony!
by RULES & REGULATIONS in.
you do remember the four day assemblies... sitting outdoors being fried in the sweltering heat, getting heat stroke in the middle of july in an outdoor baseball stadium.sitting outdoors from 9:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. was so much fun while you wore a suit, long sleeve shirt and a tie while your brain fried.
mom's who had children to take care of,lug strollers, feed all the kids, take them for bathroom breaks and try to not faint from the heat.. the sound and audio was always breaking and barely audible from the wind, airplanes flying over and (if you attended the cicero, illinois circuit )you would smell horse manure from the horse stables next door.. you know that you are a jehovah's witness.... when the only excitement waiting for the drama... where brothers and sisters dress up in ancient cloths, fake beards, fake rocks and fake soldier uniforms and wave their hands incessantly to pretend that they are acting out a drama.the excitement was unbearable!.

Expect "shepherding" from local elders as stated in the document. Also the circuit overseers this service year will be inspecting results. -

Now in 2022 still seeing JW productions with awkward scripts, mediocre acting, and stubborn WT insistency for fake beards.

Watched 1st WT Video in 30 years!
by Wonderment intoday i watched my 1st wt drama video since 30 years ago when i quit as a jw member.
the strange thing is that i did not choose to start watching this video.
it was my wife who's never been a witness, who started going over the jw.org site, and came across the new videos.

WT theatre productions may have improved since the days of convention stage lip-sync dramas, but...
Still those laughably fakes beards!
along with dull awkward dialogue that is unconvining because the "actors" are just an in-house collection of favored JW good ol' boys that are not even allowed to grow a real beard for the sake of biblical reenactment realism
There are better cosmetics and better dramatising performances to be seen in low grade B movies and cancelled Hallmark Channel stories.
The only redeeming quality of WT videography might be some of the digital special effects (for example: the fiery angel scene in the Hezekiah/Assyria feature) but WT sanitizes their portrayals of graphic biblical passages, so even the WT special effects fall short of its potential.
Even children notice what lacks in WT stuff.

TV and the Media
by punkofnice ini look at tv and the media as all fiction.. i wonder if the media is now just a tool to cauterise the brain and zombify us?
i'm sure the uk's bbc does.
it seems to be a tool to brainwash people to buy into latest agenda or trend that must be followed.....or you're an outcast like a disfellowshipped one.

We can learn from real journalism, not agenda media.

Sanderson’s “Young People” convention talk
by FFGhost inso did anyone else have the misfortune of listening to sanderson’s talk corresponding to the saturday morning convention program?.
full title is “young people - choose a path that leads to peace!”.
the basic idea is, hey you teenagers, you ought to be pioneers, wt construction workers, and/or bethelites.. i tried to put myself back in time an embarrassing number of decades…if i were in this talk’s target audience, how would i respond?.

Sanderson publicly self-praised his own story of forfeiting some low level collegiate scholarship in order to pursue high level JW ambitions...
Meanwhile, the same convention program shames average JWs for posting selfies/vlogs on social media because it might give the appearance of self-concerned boasting.
But a WT big belly can go on camera in front of 10 million JWs and toot his own horn with the intention of being "encouraging" to young people...
Hypocrites.
Wonder if Mark Sanderson would go on camera to boast about ever turning down the urge to masterbate?

Unmarried couple staying at my house
by suavojr ini need your help with this topic.
i’m trying to find an elder’s letter or wt article that frown upon a good standing jw allowing an unmarried couple to stay over their house for the night.. my wife claims this is a conscience matter and i say that’s bs, this leadership does not allow it.
would like to find this info..

We feel that, suavo.
A happy medium ground is possible.
Quietly becoming a inactive JW (non-hostile) can allow a person maintain normal relationships with family. And instead of being shunned, inactivity often results in more "love" being shown by JWs. Obviously their intention would to lovingly reactive you... just don't reactivate. Some call it fading. This usually allows the inactive JW to maintain normal communication with active JW family and some active JW friends.

My Father's Last Words
by Terry infather's last words.
in 1972, i was 25 years old following a strong impulse carrying me 1,500 miles.. i intended to find him - my dad.
he’d left when i was about half a year old.. his home in detroit, michigan had been the first house i lived in at age zero.. i knocked on his door and he answered.

So you and your mother became JW, but your mild-mannered father did not...?

Do you think the Watchtower is right about about eternal punishment of the wicked?
by Vanderhoven7 inatheists believe death is the end of personal existence.
but for those who believe there is life after death, what do you think is the nature of final punishment?
in other words do you agree with the atheists and the watchtower society or is there eternal ongoing conscious punishment awaiting the wicked.

Exactly. WT might get it right on either the flip, or the flop.
