last week i received a copy of entertainment magazine in the mail.
it had a subscription label with my husband's name and our address.
hmmm, i have no interest and didn't subscribe so i ask steve and he says no......... a couple days later i get a card that reads:.
If, after receiving your two trial months, you like our magazine and want to keep receiving it, do nothing. When your 8 FREE Tial Issues run out, we'll charge your credit card just $19.95.
That can't possibly be legal. I would let them charge the card, just for the pure entertainment of watching them try to explain it to the judge.
i have often reflected on and commented on the issues of what i believe the most devastating watchtower policies:
1 unscriptural and incomprehensible blood policy
2 child molester protection policy
Get rid of the last one, and the first two would probably take care of themselves.

ok bucking the trend here, but there was some kms i liked, alot of stick has been given to "gods loyal love"....well i liked that one.
nice melody.. i think song 4 "gods promise of a paradise" too.
and song number 15 "life without end at last".....remember this was in the brown book....still like that one, especially at conventions, always guaranteed to be on the sunday programme, still get teary eyed at that one.. what i want to know is what happened to "keep your eyes on the prize"....i can remember writing those words out on a sheet and hanging it in my room, surely the classic jw kingdom melody of all time...guaranteed at conventions circa 70's/80/s......still miss it, and hum it even now occasionaly.

My JW boss gave me the sack shortly after having a falling-out with a relative of mine (who had originally hired me). Gave me some BS story about not having enough work anymore - while simultaneously hiring one of his own relatives in my place. Nice.
Not much you can do about that sort of thing. But I suppose it's all for the best... you really don't want to be working for someone like that anyway.

the question of whos faith , built the j.w organization ,as we know charles taz russell the founding member, whom started the organization,what did he beleive in,why was he considerd apostate ,what conections astrology of and pyramidology led him to use the pyramids as defining the dates jehovahs witnesess recognise as being evident in there calculations,did jesus use the stars to calculate any significant events pertaining to mans future, why was the founding farther terminated by the society, why were most of his written works suddenly deemed apostate,e.g the aid book ,used when i came into the truth or so called truth ,what is the difference between a magazine printing company and the modern day watchtower organization, one claims to work in gods name ,the other doesnot make any claims at all.. is your faith in jesus or the organization /???

The Aid book ("Aid to Bible Understanding") was a big blue reference book much like an encyclopaedia, with an entry for everything in the bible from Aaron to Zophar. I think it was published in the 1960's. The person who was given the task of compiling this thing (or a large portion of it) was former GB member Ray Franz. In one of his later books, Ray tells about how his doubts about certain teachings at that time actually influenced his writing - when there were things he disagreed with, he just skirted around the issue as best he could and hoped no-one would notice.
