When I was about 6 or 7 years old, I astonished my parents by memorizing the entire list from Genesis to Revelation during a single 2-hour meeting. Must have been a particularly boring meeting, lol... Ever since then I've been able to find anything in the Bible almost instantly.

Insider reviews of WT publications allowed?
by BornFree inok so i've never been a jw, so i don't have insider experience with this, so let me know what you think.... an aquaintance of mine is an ms in his local congregation, and he recently told me about a "review" that he did of a newly published wt brochure (i don't recall exactly which brochure it was as there are so many stinking borchures...and who cares anyway).
i asked him what the purpose was of "reviewing" the thing, and he told me that the wt always asks for input on their new material.
so he read the brochure, i.e.

Perhaps they get to vote on the colour of the next publication. They couldn't possibly need any input regarding the content, because that's all straight from God, right? Of course it is.

22 year old women and 28 year old men...know everything!?!?
by Maverick init has come to my attention, in the last few years, that whenever i'm at a gathering two groups stand out.
22 year old ladies and 28 year old guys.
if a young lady starts to discuss her current life and she has a tone of certainty, conviction, and passion i will ask her if she is 22ish.

Daddy long legs..a cruel and unusual punishment
by Brummie inwhen i was a kid we used to catch daddy long legs and throw them into spiders webs on the trees outside...then when the spider had finished of the dllegs we would throw the spider into a bigger spiders web and watch them battle it out....sick huh, i kinda like these things now so couldnt hurt em but any insect that used to come into contact with us had a cruel existence.
anyhow i just heard that the most poisonous insect of all insects is daddy long legs.
just an interesting something that i thought i would share before i go a swatting .

anyhow I just heard that the most poisonous insect of all insects is daddy long legs wtf? Its said to be more poisonous than a black widow!
One of the most amazing things I ever saw was a fairly small DLL spider attack and kill a large black house spider about twenty times its own body size. This other spider had made its home in the corner of my bathroom window, and I would occasionally toss cockroaches and other bugs into its funnel-shaped web - at which point it would dart out, grab the insect with its huge fangs, and dart back into the funnel, often ripping the insect to pieces in the process. This thing was mean. Very aggressive, very strong, and very fast. Only thing it couldn't handle was mole crickets.
Anyway, one day I saw this spider come out of its funnel and sit on the outside of the web (as it did from time to time). I also saw a small daddy-longlegs above the window, but I thought nothing of it at the time. I left the room briefly to see if I could find anything to toss into the web, and when I came back the large spider was sitting exactly where it had been before, but stone dead. Attached to the back of its abdomen was the DLL spider, which had descended upon it and killed it instantly!
I also had a redback spider (related to the black widow) in the bathroom which I used to feed in the same way, and there was a daddy-longlegs that used to hang around its web and annoy it by trying to steal anything it caught. Occasionally they would come face-to-face and take a swipe at each other. It was fascinating to watch, but I was always surprised at how wary the redback was of the DLL. Now I know why.

Could the world "go back in time" 20+ years?
by Simon in.
the situation with sars in asia appears to be worsening and travel restrictions alone are likely to have a devastating effect on the immediate asian economy (singapore, taiwan, hong kong etc...) as a lot of these rely on trade and travel.. i wonder if the world could now cope with going back 20+ years to a time when fewer people travelled and international travel was a rarity for the majority of people.. nowadays we take for granted that we can jump on a plane and jet off to faraway lands ... but what if we couldn't?
i think one "benefit" (bad word) to sars is that it could put a brake on globalisation which i see as a bad thing.

go back 20 years? yep why not, much better music back then.
And the beer was cheaper. Bring it on, I say!

I'd like to have the ability to pause time, do whatever I want, and then un-pause it.
Just think of the possibilities. You could get anything, gain access to any information, affect the outcome of any situation, drive your enemies insane by filling up their shoes with chicken vindaloo curry at inappropriate moments...

WHAT IS YOUR PET PEVE?
by kls inwhat is it that really irritates you ,i mean the most annoying ,thing that when you see it or hear it you just clench your teeth,we all have them so let's hear yours.mine is religious boasting.there is this home builder that advertises on tv and says his crap then says we are a christien company.oh yes , because he said that i would trust him more then anyone else,he must have higher standards.
(ya right).or those people who advertise with bumper stickers of their religion, and yes the freaking door bell ringers trying to push their crap on me.isn't it what you feel inside?why advertise to everyone?does it make you feel more important or more religious?because of the attempt to show me that you have faith does not make me feel i could trust you.
this is just one of my irritants and hope not do offend, everyone has the right.

Yes, it was the Ghost of Ailsa. She and Alf had this sort of Norman Bates thing happening, and...
Actually, I don't know. I'm pretty sure that the episodes showing in Australia are the most recent - in the UK they're almost a year behind.

Why does the borg constantly push people to spend more time in service? What's the payoff for them?
It's not just about money and literature and donations, it's also about keeping the R&F in line. If they get some crazy idea that what they are already doing is acceptable, they might start to slack off a bit. So keep the pressure on.
