Mormons getting hollowed out: The tipping point has occurred.
by Qcmbr inever since mitt romney turned the spotlight on the lds church a growing tsunami of disaffection has been accelerated and brought to a head.. the lds core faithful members are leaving in increasing numbers such that growth has not simply stagnated in the west but it has actively reversed.
to their credit the church is responding aggressively but not only is it too late, it is an impossible task.
you can only paint sh*t so many ways.

The one with the angels hand drawn as a claw was in the you can live forever book. I remember having this pointed out to me well before the revelation book was ever published. I'm just kicking myself that I didn't keep those two different editions. This claw was that I saw was more deliberate, there was nothing subliminal about it. It was obvious.

If you have two copies of that book there is clearly a claw and in the 2nd there is a hand. I just want the info on it.

I'm just making a query into the red coloured book that had peoples faces stamped into the hard front cover. The "you can live forever in paradise on earth" book. This is so long ago so please forgive me if I get few things wrong. I remember been shown two editions of this book some years ago. In the first edition there is a picture of an angel, and he has his hand drawn as a claw. In the 2nd edition the claw has been removed and replaced with a hand. I remember been told the reason for this change was because the artist in the first edition was going apostate / demonized, and as a parting blow to the society had drawn a claw. This was latter picked up on so hence the latter edition has the angel with a hand. Dose anyone know anything about this or can elobaborate. Thanks.

Just wanting clarification on the RBC
by joe134cd ini have been reading threads about how the rbc operates, so i sort of have a fair idea of what the answers will be.
but i would like to have a more direct answer to my questions.. where do the orders come from that a hall is in need of a remodel, or a new one to be built.. can the elders refuse a remodel or quickly built.. out side contractors are only allowed with rbc approval.
what are the consequences if say a kh needed a new roof, and secular contractor was hired.. is it a case that orders a given that a hall needs a remodel, and that the rbc will have total control, and look out for who ever gets in the way, and elders just have to simply comply.. this is the question i most want answered.

Yeah I am aware of the Menlo Park fiasco, and thanks everyone for the informative information. Ok well let's put a twist on this and look at it from another angle. I agree although not illegal, it's pretty bloody sneaky what they are up to. But could it be that they are now resorting to these methods to make up for money where they are loosing in other areas. I certainly don't think the WT is a cash cow, and the way they are behaving, over all, would tell me they are cutting back and retreating financially. I have mentioned this in other threads, of a conversation I had with an accounts / magazine servant and I remember him telling me " for what comes in app posed to what goes out in paying for it, Im almost embarrassed to send the check".
I have another acquaintance who workes in the US Bethel, and even she confirmed to me when I asked her, that there are rumors circulating about the financial viability of the Org. The later comment is certainly telling.

Can the elders refuse a remodel or quickly built.
Out side contractors are only allowed with RBC approval. What are the consequences if say a KH needed a new roof, and secular contractor was hired.
Is it a case that orders a given that a hall needs a remodel, and that the RBC will have total control, and look out for who ever gets in the way, and elders just have to simply comply.
This is the question I most want answered. So the congregation is given a cost by the RBC, of which there is no price break down, no receipts given or justification for the costings. The congregation is just forced to have a remodel, this is what it will cost, you can't look anywhere else to get the materials or work done. So pay up, or else.
Dose anybody have a rough idea (as a %) of how much money they are making. I am lead to believe that the prices are heavily inflated.
Just as a side point to the above. When they were building an assembly hall in this country. The guy who had oversight of the project was living in one of the houses, and the society the cheeky buggars were charging him full commercial rent for the place. And the guy was working for free. Unbelievable.

Where the need is greater: TTATT in Spanish
by Londo111 init seems most of the us growth is in spanish-speaking territory, and of course, there is growth in the nations where spanish is the predominant language.
most sites oriented around ttatt, are english-speaking.
there seems then to be a great need for translators...for instance, imagine if there was a spanish version of www.jwfacts.com.. unfortunately, i dont speak this language.

Just wondering but dose it really matter what is on the end of the URL e.g .es .uk .com. As long as it has Testigos de Jehova in the URl it should be found by any search engine. So what is the big deal. Sorry please forgive me as Im not very computer literate.
