Learning TTATT does change yr whole outlook on life... As a born in the changes in yr thought process can be a little overwhelming at times...
@joe134cd - wot about people you work with or joining a local/community club..
it's hard to believe it was only a little over a year ago i received my first official rbc assignment.
i was so excited i posted about it on facebook, to many likes from my fellow jw friends.. fast forward to this year, learning ttatt and fading (last meeting was the memorial and special talk).. i've received my fourth email, in the past two months, asking for rbc help.. stifling urge to hit reply all, with a jwfacts and candace conti case web link.... isn't it amazing how much your life and worldview can change in 1 year?.

i have learned to stay away from all religion and jehovahs wittness doctrine (that includes the watchtower and awake magazines).
stay away from positions of ministerial servant, pioneer, aux pioneer, elder, and the like.
once you become a full fledged jehovah wittness you are doomed to be unhappy.
Welcome. Great post.
i think the longer you're away from the watchtower, the better you feel..
I'm on a roller coaster ATM... Some days I'm angry at the lies I was told since I was born, angry how much i allowed them to take from me, but I also know that I'm also to blame because it was me that made the choices I did. other days I'm glad that at least I found out about the cover ups & the lies. Some days I'm frustrated at loved ones being sucked into this religion wondering if they only knew wot I do. But wot makes me really happy is seeing others show a small amount of doubt or cooling off in this religion. I just hope this starts to get easier...
dramatic growth is being reported on facebook.

How much of that literature that was placed ended up in the bin?
i was just thinking it will be interesting to see how the wts emergency relief fund will operate in the philippines.
ok it worked well with the storm in florida, with cashing in on the insurance cheques.
sorry to generalize, but americans have the disposable income, and the insurance polices for things like this - a thing the wtbts finds very attractive.
They should donate the funds from selling their Brooklyn properties to help, not just the jw's, but others in need...
can a publisher "drop out" and still be in good standing?.
i hardly ever missed giving a talk on TMS but one time I was genuinely sick so was was a no show (I rang & told them the day before) & the next time I was overseas (which I again told them well in advance) & they stopped giving me talks. I was actually relieved. When I started to miss meetings, we had a CO visit us & he recommended I start up again but maybe as a householder at first. I was wanting to become active at the time & told him I would like that. He spoke to our elders but they did nothing about it. that was over 7 years ago. I have been inactive for the last 3 years & since the memorial have only attended 4 meetings & the Sunday of the DC. I guess I should thank them for that....
i have been out for over 20 years now and sometimes i run into a young jws on the street and the language seems to be "greek" to me.
i have a hard time understanding what they are talking about.
when i was in(90s) they had 4 catergories for congregation discipline.
They never announced what the sin was, but the rumour mill was always in full swing....
at the moment i am still going to all the meetings (for family reasons).. we have at the moment 1 df person who regularly comes (already df for 1.5 years).. when i opened him the door i always greeted him but in the hall i didn't as others could see it.. now i decided that my conscience can not bear this any longer.
i will greet him also in the hall or when others are around.. if any elders notice it and talk to me, i tell them my conscience does not allow to not greet that person.. did any of you do that too and have some experiences?.
I've always greeted & smiled at d'fed ones I know. I also don't remove them as fb friends. and if I saw a family member of a d'f done, I always asked about the d'fed one & if I was close to the d'fed one, I would ask that they pass on my love to them & that I missed them. Many times I saw the pain & tears in the loved ones eyes. My beautician is d'fed & I still go to her & so do a few other jw's. i have d'fed family so I know the division & pain it causes within a family. This has to be one of the most heartbreaking & inhumane practice I have ever seen.
Good on you Daniel...
he forgot his new grey bible...
when i was an elder, i had a few couples approach me to confess that they either played around or went all the way.. i suspect there were many more that did not admit to it, though..
Guilty. But we Never were engaged, just dating. We lived in different cities & when each time either of us travelled to see the other, we spent most of our time in the hotel room. felt guilty at first but got over that eventually. And we told no one - wasn't anybody's business...
